Lease Signings


Edgemark LLC (630-472-1010) leased 6,979 sq.ft. to Hallmark at Broadway Plaza located in Merrillville, IL; 2,200 sq.ft. to Radio Shack, 2,700 sq.ft. to The Lollipop Gang and 3,250 sq.ft. to Ivette Furniture at a shopping center located at the intersection of Route 59 and 95th in Naperville, IL; and 2,200 sq.ft. to Radio Shack at Olmstead/Palatine shopping center in Hoffman Estate, IL.

 

Newmark Merrill Companies LLC (818-996-0700) recently leased space to Hong Kong Express and Giovanni’s at Phase II of Country Club Marketplace located at the intersection of Soquel Canyon Parkway and Butterfield Ranch Road in Chino Hills, CA. Phase II is tenanted by Blockbuster, KinderCare, Postal Annex, Great Clips for Hair and Subway. With the signings, Newmark Merrill has now leased 95% of the 28,000 sq.ft. available at Phase II of the project. Phase III breaks ground this Summer.

 

Westcor (602-953-6200) leased a 140,000 sq.ft. space to Sears at Chandler Fashion Center located in Chandler, AZ. The department store is slated for a Fall 2001 opening. The company also leased 132,000 sq.ft. to The Great Indoors at Chandler Gateway, a 200,000 sq.ft. power center located in Chandler AZ also slated for a Fall 2001 opening.

 

The Macerich Company (310-394-6000) has leased a total of 76,500 sq.ft. in recent signings at Vintage Faire Mall, a regional shopping center located in the Modesto area of CA. Tenants signed include American Eagle, The Children’s Place, Limited Too, Spencer Gifts, Thomas Kinkade Galleries, Mr. Rags, Pacific Sunwear and Lids. The mall is 91% occupied with these signings in place.

 

The Andrew Shedlin Companies (847-433-3400) leased 5,053 sq.ft. to Kid Spot at Security Square Mall, a 1.2 million sq.ft. regional mall located in the metropolitan area of Baltimore, MD. Anchors include Old Navy, Burlington Coat Factory, Hecht’s, J.C. Penney Outlet Store, Sears and Ward’s.

 

Pace Properties (314-968-9898) leased 30,000 sq.ft. on behalf of TJX Companies at Kirkwood Commons, located at the intersection of Interstate 44 and South Kirkwood Road in St. Louis, MO. Desco Group represented the lessor. The company also leased 3,125 sq.ft. on behalf of Lamar’s Donuts at Olivette Plaza, located on Olive Boulevard. Bianco Properties represented the lessor.

 

Grubb & Ellis/Newport Beach (714-939-6034) leased 4,088 sq.ft. to Albertson’s, Inc. at The Center at Rancho Niguel, a 273,619 sq.ft. shopping center located on Crown Valley Parkway in Laguna Niguel, CA. Anchors include Ralph’s, Loehmanns, Ross Dress For Less and Edwards Theaters. The 10-year lease was valued at $2.3 million. Albertson’s plans to use the space to convert an existing Sav-on Express into a full Sav-on store. The expansion is slated for a June 2001 completion.

 

Divaris Real Estate (757-497-2113) leased 3,500 sq.ft. for La Med, a Mediterranean-style restaurant located on Canton Street in Rosewell, GA. It is the restaurant chain’s first store in the Atlanta, GA metro area. JB Bader represented the landlord. The company also leased 3,290 sq.ft. for Wolf Camera & Video at the Presidential MarketCenter located on Ronald Reagan Parkway in Snellville, GA. Anchors at the center include Publix, Target, Office Depot and Marshalls. Divaris Real Estate leased two sites in Virginia Beach, VA to Zoots, The Cleaner Cleaner, a three-unit chain of drycleaners operating in Boston. Zoots leased .5 acres on Indian River Road and plans to build a 2,000 sq.ft. store on the site, in addition to leasing a .67 acre parcel, formerly housing a bank, at the Cypress Point Shopping Center on Weslyan and Diamond Springs Road. The drycleaning chain offers 24-hour pick up service, extended hours and a drive-up valet service. Divaris is the exclusive tenant representative for Zoots in VA.

 

Lund Company (402-393-8811) has completed the leasing of Summit Square, a 30,244 sq.ft. strip center located on the northeast corner of 144th Street and West Center Road in Omaha, NE. The company leased space to Chicago’s Pizza, Quizno’s, and a white tablecloth sushi house.

 

The Rappaport Companies (703-641-9103) leased 1,200 sq.ft. to Tashes Ankh Caribbean Seafood next to Frank’s Nursery and Crafts at Milford Mill Shopping Center located on Liberty Road in Baltimore, MD. The company represented the landlord, Liberty-Milford Partnership in the transaction.

 

Boyd Page (713-523-6630) represented both the tenant and landlord in the leasing of 1,848 sq.ft. to Cafe Boticelli, a new-concept coffee, wine and dessert bar at Post Midtown Square, located at the intersection of Babgy and Gray in Houston, TX. The company also leased 1,548 sq.ft. on behalf of the landlord to The GardenHut Restaurant located on West FM 1960 in Houston, TX.

 

Flocke & Avoyer (619-280-2600) released 1,080 sq.ft. to Gems of la Costa and 2,000 sq.ft. to Vanity Beauty Supply at the Plaza Paseo Real Shopping Center in Carlsbad, CA. The company leased the space on behalf of the landlord, the City of San Jose Retirement Funds. The first lease runs five years and is valued in excess of $162,000; the second lease runs five years and is valued in excess of $247,000. The company also leased 2,250 sq.ft. to Beneficial Finance at the Terra Nova Plaza Shopping Center located on the southeast corner of East H Street and Interstate 805 in Chula Vista, CA. The lease runs five years and is valued in excess of $247,000.
