Alfalfa’s Market (303-440-5220) will close its 17,000 sq.ft. Denver, CO store located on University Boulevard this month. The company has opened three additional stores in the market since opening the University Boulevard location ten years ago, each of which are larger and fit into the company’s 22,000 sq.ft. to 25,000 sq.ft. store model. The company claims it has out grown the store and plans to funnel customers to its other location in the area.

Winn-Dixie (904-783-5000) plans to close 114 underproducing stores in the coming months as part of a corporate restructuting plan aimed at remaining competitive with other supermarkets. The company operates more than 1,100 locations in 14 states and the Bahamas, but has not said which stores will be closed.
