The Sembler Company plans to develop a 49,000 sq.ft., 2.91-acre mixed-use center on the site formerly occupied by Riverside Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. Plans call for a supermarket anchor and 23,000 sq.ft. of retail shops and community-oriented services. Space is available, and a Spring 2002 opening is planned.

Ben Carter Properties plans to develop Columbus Park Crossing, a 350-acre mixed-use complex with a 750,000 sq.ft. lifestyle center located in Columbus, GA. The entire project will take between ten and twenty years to complete, but the retail portion will be the first component completed. More than 40 acres of green space is planned to be a buffer along the Weems Road and Spring Lake subdivision. Space is available. A Fall 2001 opening is planned.

DBO Development is developing a 40,000 sq.ft. shopping center comprised of two buildings located on Highway 68 in Monterey, CA. The project is being designed to be a "service commercial" center rather than a destination site. A coffee shop, a dry cleaners, a Jack in the Box and a 7-Eleven convenience store have signed leases at the project thus far.

Developers Diversified Realty is developing a 75,000 sq.ft. expansion/redevelopment at the Spring Creek Centre in Fayetteville, AR. The project is slated to house Old Navy and Best Buy; a 91,000 sq.ft. expansion/redevelopment to include Office Depot, Carolina Pottery, TJ Maxx and other tenants at Wando Crossings in Mount Pleasant, SC; a 51,000 sq.ft expansion for Dick’s Sporting Goods and Hallmark at the Merriam Towne Center in Phoenix, AZ; and a 30,000 sq.ft. redevelopment for Ross Stores at the Family Center at Fort Union in Midvale, UT. The company is developing a 416,000 sq.ft. shopping center located in Meridian, ID to be completed this year. Anchors include Wal*Mart Supercenter, Shepler’s Bed, Bath & Beyond, Old Navy and Office Depot; a 607,000 sq.ft. center located in Everett, MA to be completed this year. Anchors include Target, Home Depot, Bed, Bath & Beyond, OfficeMax, Old Navy and PETsMART; The company is also developing Phase II of a 185,000 sq.ft. shopping center located in Oviedo, FL slated for an opening later this year. Anchors include Linens n’ Things, TJ Maxx, and PETsMART; and Phase II of a 282,000 sq.ft. shopping center located in Toledo, OH scheduled for an opening later this year. The company plans to break ground on Long Beach Plaza, a 475,000 sq.ft. mixed-use center located in Long Beach, CA during the Fall of this year. The $60 million project is slated to be anchored by a 125,000 sq.ft. Wal*Mart, an 85,000 sq.ft. Albertson’s and a 15,030 sq.ft. Walgreens.
