Advanced Micro Computers, Inc. (909-682-1455) filed for chapter seven bankruptcy protection and closed its store on Indiana Avenue in Riverside, CA. AceOne Micro Computers has opened in the company’s former location.
HomeBase (949-442-5265) will close 26 stores that the company had tagged for conversion to the House2Home concept. The stores are located in the Pacific Northwest, the Rockies and El Paso, TX. The company will close 47 stores this year, leaving it operating 42 House2Home locations.
Carl’s Jr. (714-940-3454) will close all but six of its OK locations including all its units in the Oklahoma City market. The company operates 929 units nationwide.
Wal*Mart (501-273-4000) will close its Village City, OK location. The company owns the site and the building.
Video Update (651-222-0006) closed four Dallas, TX-area stores in its second round of closing since the video rental chain sought bankruptcy protection. The company will operate 260 locations in North America once the closures take effect.
Drug Emporium (740-548-7080) filed for chapter 11bankruptcy protection as part of an agreement with Snyder’s Drug Stores, Inc. (952-935-5441), who will purchase 80 of its 131 stores. The other 51 units will close. Drug Emporium sold 16 Atlanta, GA-area units to CVS before filing for chapter 11 protection.
West Coast Entertainment (215-856-2560) trading as West Coast Video has closed its remaining 56 stores and sold the inventory to Video One Liquidators. The company filed for chapter seven bankruptcy protection in DE. |
