Saks Fifth Avenue (205-940-4000) closed its 50 000 sq.ft. store in Palm Springs CA. The department store chain operates a store in Palm Desert CA. The company operates 62 stores for the Saks Fifth Avenue concept.

HomeLife Corp. (847-649-7000) filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection after the chain closed all 130 of its locations in 26 states.

AOL Time Warner (212-484-8000) will close the remaining 85 Warner Brothers Studio Stores by the end of October. The one-time 130-unit chain has its flagship store in a three-story 40 000 sq.ft. space on Times Square in New York City.
