Finard & Company is developing a 160 000 sq.ft. strip center in Mashpee MA called South Cape Village. South Cape Village will be located across from Mashpee Commons at the intersection of Route 28 and Donna’s Lane which has a daily traffic count of 38 000 cars. The center will consist of nine freestanding buildings and 5 000 sq.ft. to 36 500 sq.ft. spaces are available as well as 5 000 sq.ft. to 10 000 sq.ft. outlots. The center is slated to open in Fall 2002.

Eyde Company is redeveloping a 230 000 sq.ft. mixed-use center on 75 acres in Dewitt MI. The center is located at the intersection of Interstate 69 and Business 27 which has an average daily traffic count of 40 408 vehicles. Tenants include Van Heusen Famous Footwear Dress Barn Toy Liquidators and Leggs Hanes Bally. The Sembler Co. is developing Riverside Market Square an $8 million Publix-anchored project in Jacksonville FL. The center is slated to open next Spring. The development consists of a 27 500 sq.ft. Publix and two buildings for shops which are 5 625 sq.ft. and 8 915 sq.ft. Tenants include Quizno’s Horizons Day Spa Sushi Top Japanese Restaurant Starbucks Coffee Co. Mailboxes Etc. H&R Block Green Tea Chinese Restaurant and Papa John’s Pizza. Two 1 200 sq.ft. units and one 1 500 sq.ft. unit remain available.

The Goldenberg Group is proposing to develop Patrick Henry Crossroads a 650 000 sq.ft. shopping center on 69 acres in Newport News VA. The site is located at the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and Bland Boulevard which has an average daily traffic count of 57 000 vehicles. Construction is expected to begin in mid-to-late 2002 with an opening date in 2004. Plans call for three anchors ranging from 111 700 sq.ft. to 204 800 sq.ft. four storefronts ranging from 22 300 sq.ft. to 38 400 sq.ft. four smaller tenant spaces ranging from 6 400 sq.ft. to 9 000 sq.ft. four outparcels and a hotel site. When anchors are signed the company expects to submit plans to the city for approval.

The Sansone Group is developing a 320-acre T.I.F. district in Troy MO. The first phase of development will be on 40 acres north of U.S. Highway 40 and east of Interstate 55-70 and contain restaurants gas stations convenience stores and space for hotels. The first phase is expected to take one to two years to develop. The other four phases which will be east of Interstate 55-70 south of Illinois Route 162 and north of U.S. Route 40 will include a community retail center a regional retail center restaurants office space condominiums and warehouse space.

Kobra Properties is developing a 39 000 sq.ft. retail center in Roseville CA. The project is located at the intersection of Rocky Ridge Drive and Eureka Road next to a CarMax dealership and is expected to open next Summer.

Chase Properties is developing a 333 000 sq.ft. strip center in Wooster OH. The project is located at the intersection of Burbank Road and Riffel Road. IRT Property Company is developing a 97 000 sq.ft. shopping center in Lawrenceville GA called The Shops at Huntcrest. Located at the intersection of Interstate 85 and Old Peachtree Road the center is 63% preleased and will be anchored by a 54 340 sq.ft. Publix. Area demographics include a population of 21 738 residing in a two-mile radius earning an average household income of $82 764. Edens & Avant is panning to develop a $3 million 20 000 sq.ft. expansion of the 63 393 sq.ft. Kenilworth Commons shopping center in Charlotte NC. The addition is expected to be located on 1.5 acres adjacent to the existing center and comprise a single building. Kenilworth Commons currently includes a Harris Teeter supermarket Mailboxes Etc. a freestanding Just Fresh sandwich shop and boutique retailers such as Crazy Jane’s home-decor center. Construction of the new space is expected to begin in Spring 2002 and to be completed by Fall.
