Regency Realty Corporation is developing the 287,000 sq.ft. Olde Towne Plaza in Ballwin, MO. The center will be anchored by Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse, Stein Mart, Marshalls and Homegoods and is located at Manchester and Ries Roads. The project is the company’s first in the St. Louis area since acquiring the Midland Group in 1998. The company is also building the 98,351 sq.ft. Fenton Village Market Place in Fenton, MI. The center will be anchored by Farmer Jack grocery store and Blockbuster Video and is scheduled to open late Spring 2001.

Arcadia Development Company is building Town Center, a $628 million planned community in North Richland Hills, TX. Construction on the three two-story buildings featuring 65,000 sq.ft. of retail space will commence in April. The development will eventually have over 150,000 sq.ft. of retail space, of which 60% will be tenanted by local and regional tenants.

Trammell Crow Company will develop the 87,000 sq.ft. Shops at Lakeline Village at Lakeline Boulevard and Cypress Creek Road in Cedar Park, TX. The center will be anchored by a 67,000 sq.ft. Randall’s supermarket and McDonald’s has taken a pad site. The 13.97-acre site will also have a gas station on the corner pad. Completion is scheduled for September.

Gustine Company wants to develop a grocery anchored center on a 24-acre lot located at Contee Road and Route 1 in Laurel, MD. The plan must go through numerous rezonings and the company has pledged $750,000 for road improvements that would ease traffic concerns.

Timber Development Corporation has begun construction on a CVS Pharmacy located in Oakland, MD. The building is on a 1.5-acre site and is located at US Route 219 and Memorial Drive, near the Garrett County Memorial Hospital.

Easter & Eisenman is building the Shoppes at Deep River in High Point, NC. The 60,000 sq.ft. first phase will be anchored by Food Lion and is scheduled to open in late March. Other tenants will include Alterations Express, Hangers Cleaners, Pro Golf Discount, Qwik-Pac-N-Ship and TJ’s Deli. Another 60,000 sq.ft. phase is set for construction after an anchor tenant is found. There are 15 outparcels on the site, one of which will be a McDonalds location.

Cohen & Company is brokering leases at Village Mall in Horsham, PA. The center is located at the intersection of Blair Mill Road and Moreland Avenue and is being renovated. Spaces from 10,000 sq.ft. to 140,000 sq.ft. are available with a spring 2001 move-in date. The center is anchored by Acme Supermarkets, Eckerd Drugs and Bradlees Department Store. Area demographics include a population count of 87,000 residing in a three-mile radius earning an average annual household income of $58,000.

Trademark Real Estate Investments will develop the 450,000 sq.ft. Gateway Station on 55 acres due south of Fort Worth, TX. The power center will be located at Interstate 35 and McAlister Road and will be anchored by a 346,000 sq.ft. Kohl’s store. Phase one of the center will break ground in March and is scheduled to be completed in spring 2002.

Two developers are vying to build grocery-anchored centers at the same intersection in Elk Grove, CA. The sites are located at Elk Grove Boulevard and Waterman Road with FHK Companies wanting to place a 46,600 sq.ft. Bel-Air Supermarket with 21,000 sq.ft. of supporting retail on the northeast corner and Safeway envisions a 46,000 sq.ft. store with 24,400 sq.ft. of retail on the southeast corner. Both plans would need changes in the East Elk Grove Specific Plan, but only one is expected to be approved by city council.
