Real Estate Professionals Making the News Simon Property Group (317-636-1600) will merge with SPG Properties, Inc. after the move was approved by shareholders of the Properties. The action streamlines the Simon organization by eliminating properties as a subsidiary of the group. The Properties preferred stock will be converted to one of two new series of Simon preferred stock with identical power, designations, preferences and rights. Properties Series B preferred becomes Simon Series F, and Series C becomes Simon Series G. The new series began trading on July 2. The Palladium Company (212-421-5333) hired Kenneth P. Wong as partner- western region. Wong has served a president of Walt Disney Imagineering. Wong will be responsible for the company’s projects in Dallas, TX and San Jose, CA as well as directing growth in the western states. The company also appointed Paul J. Wise vice resident and general manager for the 72-acre Palladium at City Place in West Palm Beach, FL. Wise will oversee operations for the $550 million project.Colliers Seeley International, Inc. (949-474-0707) announced that Catherine Rubenstein, vice president of its Irvine office has joined the investment division specializing in retail. Trammell Crow Company (561-394-3388) hired Shay E. Pope as associate. Pope will be responsible for tenant representation and joins the firm from Larkin Schmidt Commercial. The company has also announced numerous promotions. Cary Fronstin has been promoted to vice president and will be responsible for property management throughout Palm Beach County, FL. Nigel Horsfall has been promoted to vice president, responsible for property and construction management for Miami-Dade County. Linda Lake has been promoted to senior property manager for Miami-Dade County. Bunnie Willis is now a senior property manager with projects in Palm Beach County and Meredith Gladysz is now a senior associate.Singer Financial Corporation (212-873-5500) hired Peter L. Gruber as director of acquisitions. Gruber will supervise the acquisition of value added shopping centers nationwide.Pace Properties/ChainLinks (314-968-9898) promoted Douglas C.
