The Ghazi Company is developing the 100,000 sq.ft. The Colonnade shopping center in Charlotte, NC. The $20 million development is located at the intersection of Park and Woodlawn Roads at the site of the former Hannaford Supermarket. The site is across the street from Park Road Shopping Center and near SouthPark Mall. The project will feature national and local retailers and specialty stores and restaurants. Crossland Retail is developing the 75,000 sq.ft. Park Selwyn Terrace at nearby Selwyn Avenue.

Kovac Commercial, Inc. is marketing the 500,000 sq.ft. Yuba City Marketplace in Yuba City, CA. The 40-acre site is located at the intersection of Tharp Road and State Route 20 and is designed for five big-box stores, a supermarket and inline shop space. Home Depot will shadow anchor the center and is scheduled to open by the end of the year. The center is scheduled to open by the end of 2002. The Brown Group of Scottsdale, AZ is developing the project.

Walpert Properties is developing the 110,000 sq.ft. St. John’s Crossing in North Saint Louis County, MO. The center will be anchored by a 68,000 sq.ft. Shop ‘n Save Supermarket and is slated to open in early summer 2002. The site is located on St. Charles Rock Road between Rittenour High School and St. John City Hall. The project includes a 5,000 sq.ft. outlot and 34,000 sq.ft. of leasable inline space.

Collett & Associates is developing the 450,000 sq.ft. grocery-anchored Alexander Place in Raleigh, NC. The site is located on Glenwood Avenue north of the Interstate 540 interchange across from yet-to-be-built Brier Creek Commons. Construction on Alexander Place is scheduled to begin next spring with opening planned for 2003. Brier Creek Commons will be anchored by BJ’s Wholesale Club, Michael’s and TJ Maxx.

Lewis Retail Centers is developing the 820,000 sq.ft. Eastvale Gateway power center near Norco, CA. The $80 million to $90 million project will include space for big box retailers, restaurants, a multiplex cinema, a health club and a daycare facility.

The Sembler Companies will manage and assist in the redevelopment of the 840,000 sq.ft. Clearwater Mall in Clearwater, FL. The New Plan Excel Realty Trust Inc.-owned center is situated on 72.5 acres at the intersection of US Route 19 and Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard and has an average daily traffic count of 140,000 cars. Plans for the renovations have not been finalized and demalling the property has been rumored.
