Brenner will be responsible for advising clients and developers regarding net-leased properties and 1031 investment opportunities. Prior to joining the company, Brenner served as an associate director at Insignia/ESG. The company also hired Jill Bessen Sickle as senior managing director. Sickle will be responsible for directing the 1031 multi-owner investment program and net-leased property syndications. Sickle has served as senior vice president at Dotspot, Inc., vice president at Jones Lang LaSalle and The Alter Group and a portfolio asset manager and project manager for Hines. The company hired Kevin Vernick as director of business development and Wendy Kline as asset manager. Vernick will be responsible for managing developer relationships, directing exclusive listings and conducting financial analysis on net-lease properties. Vernick had previously served as a consultant at Accenture (formerly Anderson Consulting). Kline will be responsible for management of the firm’s commercial properties nationwide. Kline has previously served as controller of NFL Players Golf Club. ShopKo Stores, Inc. (920-497-2211) hired Jack W. Eugster as chairman of the board. Eugster has served on the board since 1991 and was chairman of Musicland from 1980 until the company was sold to Best Buy, Inc. last year. Eugster replaces William J. Podany who will continue to serve the retailer as CEO and president. Dollar General Corporation (615-855-4000) hired Donald S. Shaffer as president and chief operating officer. Shaffer has previously served as COO and CEO of Heilig-Meyers and as chairman and CEO of Sears, Roebuck and Co.’s Western Auto Group. Dollar General has stated that it will restate its earnings for the last three years and is investigating accounting fraud. Cushman & Wakefield (800-376-3133) has formed a strategic alliance with Baum Realty Group of Chicago, IL. The deal will establish a full-service retail brokerage presence in the midstates. Baum Realty Group will manage leasing assignments sourced by Cushman & Wakefield’s regional offices in Chicago, IL; Rosemont, IL; Detroit, MI; Minneapolis, MN and St. Louis, MO. CBL & Associates Properties, Inc. (423-855-0001) promoted Robert J. Snetman to director of corporate sponsorship and branding. Snetman will be responsible for providing supplementary services and amenities to the customers and retailers in the firm’s 51 centers. Snetman has served previously as a leasing manager for six malls in the portfolio. Divaris Real Estate (757-497-2113) hired Brenda Martin as a retail sales and leasing associate specializing in central and western VA and the company’s centers in metropolitan Richmond. Martin has served previously as a real estate representative with The Shopping Center Group of the Virginias and has served in the real estate departments of Heilig-Meyers Furniture Company and Richfood Holdings, Inc. Zifkin Realty & Development (312-575-8650) hired Robert S. Melsher as vice president. Melsher has served previously as a senior executive with Kowitt Passor Group. Melsher will be responsible for site selection and acquisition services as well as establishing broker networks and assisting in the development process. The Hayman Company (248-879-7777) hired Sanford Aaron as vice president of business development. Aaron comes to the company from Soave Company LLC where he was director of taxation. Aaron has also served with KPMG in its Washington, DC tax office. Aaron is responsible for developing institutional relationships for acquiring and managing office, apartment, hotel and retail properties throughout the U.S. |
