Who's Opening & WhereWal*Mart (501-273-4000) will open a 208,700 sq.ft. store at the intersection of West 27th Avenue and South Olson Street near Highway 395 in Kennewick, WA. The opening will be followed by the closing of the companys store on West Canal Drive in Kennewick, WA. The company will open a 150,000 sq.ft. store at the intersection of Queensgate Drive and Interstate 182 in Richland, WA. The company will open a store at the site of Stans Garden Center in Harborcreek, PA. The company will expand its Neighborhood Market concept in the Houston, TX market. The store at the intersection of Kempwood and Gessner Streets will open in late summer as will the store at Texas 6 and Rippling Water Road. The units at Champions Forest, Spring Cypress and at the intersection of Beechnut and Kirkwood Streets are scheduled for late fall openings. The planned unit at the intersection of Grant and Eldridge Streets is scheduled to open early 2002. The companys proposed Wal*Mart and Sams Club project in Chesapeake, VA has been delayed due to zoning problems. The project is located at the intersection of Elizabeth Harbor Drive and Taylor Road adjacent to the Chesapeake Square Mall. The company will not open the 220,000 sq.ft. store on East Main Street in Spartanburg, SC until January 2003. The company will open a 204,164 sq.ft. supercenter at the intersection of Elm Place and Tucson Street in Broken Arrow, OK. The store will be the companys second in the city.
Goodys Restaurant (630-585-7450) will open its second Aurora, IL location at 333 South Lake Street in a former fast food site.

Nordstroms (206-628-2111) will delay by a year the opening of its store at Short Pump Town Center in Richmond, VA. The store will open in fall 2003, while the rest of the center is scheduled for a September 2002 ribbon-cutting. The company will also open a Nordstroms Rack at Dulles Town Center in Dulles, VA. The store is scheduled to open this fall. The company will open a 42,000 sq.ft. Nordstrom Rack store at the 555 Ninth Street Retail Center in San Francisco, CA. The company will also open a 30,000 sq.ft. Nordstroms Rack store at Silverado Ranch Plaza in Henderson, NV. The unit is scheduled to open in fall 2001. The company will open a full-line store at Fashion Show Mall on the strip in Las Vegas, NV in fall 2002. The company has had to delay the opening of its Southpark Center location until 2003.
