The project is estimated to be completed in approximately two years. The company needs subdivision approval and individual building permits before construction can begin.

Karns Commercial Real Estate Inc. is developing 177 000 sq.ft. of retail and restaurant space at Northeast Market Place in Garland TX. The site is located on 19.84 acres at the signalized intersection of George Bush Parkway and North Garland Avenue. The development will include five anchor tenants 30 000 sq.ft. of small shop space and one pad site. Projects under development in the area include a Super Target adjacent to the site and a Wal*Mart Supercenter and Sam’s Club facing the site. The project is scheduled for completion in early 2003.

Continental Realty is leasing the 60 000 sq.ft. Village of Painters Mill in Owings Mill MD. The center is located at the intersection of Lakeside Boulevard near Owings Mills Boulevard and will be anchored by a Food Lion. The strip center has 1 200 sq.ft. to 5 400 sq.ft. and an end cap available. The project is scheduled to open in February 2002.

Devcon Enterprises Inc. and Pelican Bay Development Inc. broke ground on the $13.3 million Bonita Grande Crossings shopping center in Bonita Springs FL. The center will be anchored by Publix supermarket; additional tenants include Subway Mail Boxes Etc. Marsala’s Pizzeria & Italian Eatery Fashion Fresh Cleaners J&L Golf Shop and China Town restaurant. Upon completion the center will have 90 676 sq.ft. of retail space including a 54 376 sq.ft. Publix with pharmacy drive-thru 20 300 sq.ft. of inline store space and three outparcels.

Sigma National Inc. sold 34.71 acres in Chester VA to Armada Hoffler and Compson Development which plans to develop the Bermuda Crossroads Shopping Center. The 130 200 sq.ft center which is under construction will be anchored by Office Max and Food Lion and is scheduled to open in the summer of 2002. The company additionally sold 65 acres in Gloucester VA to Evergreen Development which plans to develop Fox Mill Center. The 350 000 sq.ft. center is under construction and will be anchored by Wal*Mart Supercenter when it opens in the summer of 2002.

The 121 113 sq.ft. center is 80% leased and anchored by Giant Food CVS Drug Stores Blockbuster Bennigan’s and National Penn Bank. Area demographics include a population of 72 419 residing in a five-mile radius with an average household income of $92 584. The average daily traffic count is 38 614 cars. Located at the corner of West Chester Pike and Dilworthtown Road the center is expected to open in June 2002.

Parker Lincoln Developers is looking to sell joint venture or lease a 20- acre parcel in Raleigh NC. Parker Lincoln Developers and PLC Commercial will not develop MarqE a 240 000 sq.ft. center that was slated to have Jillian’s and Edwards Cinemas as anchors. The plan fell through when Edwards Cinemas filed for bankruptcy. Parker Lincoln Developers’ contract with PLC Commerical is coming to an end and the company is looking to bring in other people to develop the land.

The Irvine Co. is leasing the Cherry Orchard Retail Center a 58 000 sq.ft. speciality retail center in Sunnyvale CA. The center is located at 308 West El Camino adjacent to the 300-unit Cherry Orchard apartment complex and will contain 14 service-oriented retailers and restaurants. Anchors include P.F.
