Closings

Furrs Supermarkets (505-998-3877) has closed 17 stores that were excluded from the company’s purchase agreement with Fleming Companies Inc. Furrs had been operating under chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and Fleming acquired 66 stores in NM and TX. The closures affected 13 Furrs locations two So:Lo stores and two La Feria locations.

American Multi-Cinema (816-221-4000) closed the Sea Tac South AMC Theater at Sea Tac Mall in Tacoma WA. The theater chain will continue to operate its theaters in Federal Way and University Place. Sea Tac Mall is considering food service or retail space for the vacancy.

Big V Supermarkets Inc. (845-651-4411) closed its 80 000 sq.ft. Shop Rite Supermarket in Wilkes-Barre PA. The site is located on Kidder Street and had opened earlier this year. The company operates 32 stores in NJ NY and PA.

Track ‘n Trail (916-933-4525) will close its remaining 101 Track ‘n Trail and Overland Trading Company stores nationwide. The company has been unable to find a fresh source of capital or a corporate buyer and filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy in April.
