Real Estate Professionals Making the News Movado Group Inc. (201-460-4800) appointed Ray A. Stuart president of Movado Boutiques. Stuart joins the retailer from Bailey Banks & Biddle and previously served as executive vice president of the Zale Corporation. Stuart will be responsible for overseeing the company’s retail development. He will replace Scott Ornstein who has left the company. The Hutensky Group LLC (860-527-2222) has formed the HRI Fund LLC to invest $200 million in centers with turnaround potential. The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation is an investor in the fund. The group is seeking centers with GLAs of over 100 000 sq.ft. located east of the Mississippi River. The centers must be in primary or strong secondary markets with older dated formats and an occupancy rate of below 85%. The targeted value is over $7 million. Metreon (415-369-6000) named Archie Elwell to the position of vice president business development and sponsorships. Elwell had served as the marketing director for Fox Family Worldwide Interactive. Metreon is a business unit of the Sony Corporation of America and operates a 350 000 sq.ft. center in San Francisco CA that includes a 15-screen theater and IMAX theater as well as restaurants and specialty retail focused on "the digital lifestyle." Elwell will be responsible for sponsorships and marketing opportunities and will oversee the center’s web hosting agreement with Sony Pictures Digital Entertainment. J.H. Snyder Company (323-857-5546) named Drew Planting to lead an acquisition entity that reposition assets primarily in CA. The company will operate under the name Snyder Partners and has an initial capitalization of $50 million. Planting joins the company from Maguire Partners where he was a partner in charge of leasing and marketing. He has also served at Cushman & Wakefield in southern CA. J.H. Snyder Company partner Cliff Goldstein will co-direct the effort. The REALM (212-653-0598) named John W. Campbell to its Board of Directors. Campbell is president of Brookfield Ventures Ltd. the investment subsidiary of Brookfield Properties Corporation. The company also named Susan Marshall vice president of sales and Don Chiodo as vice president of information technology. Marshall joins the company from Mercury Interactive Corporation where she served as area vice president. She has also served as branch manager for Informix Software Inc. Chiodo joins the company from CompuGenics Inc. where he served as president. Chiodo has experience developing software to integrate with large financial firms. |
