Closings And Financial Woes Bi-Lo, LLC (864-675-5521), a division of Royal Ahold, closed a location in Scottsboro, AL last month, however, the company plans to open another Scottsboro location. Royal Ahold operates about 438 supermarkets, discount grocery and convenience/fuel stores under the Bi-Lo trade name. Big R (765-452-4038) closed its remaining four stores last month. Weyco Group Inc., headed by Thomas Florsheim Sr. and Thomas Florsheim Jr., is acquiring 23 of the company’s 155 U.S. stores and the wholesale business. The remaining stores will be closed. Sullivan’s Foods (815-273-4511) closed a supermarket location on Garfield Avenue in Bartonville, IL. The company operates 14 grocery stores in central and northern, IL. |
