Farmer Jack (877-327-5225) closed its 45,000 sq.ft. Saginaw, MI location last month. The supermarket chain, which operates more than 100 stores in MI and OH, is owned by The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company.

People’s Pottery Inc. (716-272-1600) is closing its St. Petersburg, FL location. The store, which sells pottery, jewelry, art glass and fiber art, is located at the BayWalk mall. The company operates 50 stores in the U.S.

Phillips-Van Heusen Corp. (212-381-3500) closed its Van Heusen Outlet and Bass Shoes locations at the Tanger Outlet Center in Martinsburg, WV in December.

Winn-Dixie Stores Inc. (904-783-5000) closed its store on Dr. Phillips Boulevard in Orlando, FL in December. The company operates more than 1,100 supermarkets in the southeastern U.S. and the Bahamas.

Walt Disney Co. (847-291-7799) closed its 4,000 sq.ft. store at the Northbrook Court in Northbrook, IL last month. The closing was part of a company strategy initiated in Fall 2000 to close 150 of its lowest-performing stores. Also, the company announced plans last month to close an additional 50 Disney Stores in 2002. The company currently operates 480 locations. Following the closures, 300 to 400 Disney Stores are expected to operate in North America.

Tricon Global Restaurants, Inc. (502-874-8300) intends to open or relocate eight KFC’s that were closed in northwest AR in December following franchisee Newmark Foods’ Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing. The closed stores are located in Bentonville, Fayetteville, Rogers, Siloam Springs and Springdale. The company operates more than 5,300 KFC restaurants nationwide.
