Mid-American Real Estate Corp. (630-954-7300) secured a 4,500 sq.ft. lease for The Children’s Place at Chatham Village Square at the intersection of 87th and Cottage Grove in Chicago, IL. Mid-American also secured sites for The Children’s Place at River Forest Town Center in River Forest, IL and Geneva Town Center in Geneva, IL. The company, which specializes in apparel and accessories for children, currently is looking for spaces of 4,000 sq.ft. to 5,000 sq.ft. throughout Chicago.

The Goldstein Group (201-703-9700) is representing Strauss Discount Auto. The automotive stores are seeking 12,870 sq.ft. stores throughout Bergen, Passaic and Essex counties in NJ.

Finard & Co. (781-273-5555) is the exclusive tenant representative for Fantastic Sams. The full-service family hair salon is seeking to open 100 salons during the next five years throughout MA, MN, NH and VT. The company looks to lease 1,200 sq.ft. in supermarket-anchored strip centers.

Doherty Enterprises, Inc. (201-818-4669) is representing Panera Bread and Johnny Carino’s restaurants with their expansion throughout NJ and NY during the coming 18 months. Panera Bread occupies spaces of 4,200 sq.ft., while Johnny Carino’s uses spaces of 6,000 sq.ft. in freestanding locations, malls and strip centers.

JBG Rosenfeld Retail (301-657-0700) announced it will represent The Bazaar, a 17,000 sq.ft. department store, which specializes in cosmetics, apparel, accessories, home furnishings and other household items. The Bazaar has plans for two openings in the greater Washington, DC markets during the coming year.

Charter & Realty Development Corp. (203-629-3939) has been assigned by A&P to sublease its vacated store in Manchester, CT. The 54,592 sq.ft. store is part of Burr Corners Shopping Center, a 271,134 sq.ft. center anchored by Ames. Neighboring tenants include Home Depot, Wal*Mart, Shaws, National Amusement, Lowes and Target.

Northwest Atlantic Group (847-375-9966) will advise Hollywood Entertainment Corp. in new store development activities throughout the U.S. The exclusive contract includes securing leases and sites for 40 to 60 new locations in 2002 and more than 100 new locations in 2003. The new Hollywood Video Outlets will occupy 6,000 sq.ft. of space.
