DJM Asset Management, LLC (631-752-1100) was retained to assist in the disposition of leases for 51 CVS pharmacy locations in AL, GA, IL, IN, MD, MI, NC, NJ, NY, OH, PA, SC, TN, VA and WV.

NAI KLNB Inc. (410-321-0100) was chosen to oversee the local expansion program for The Tan Stand. The upscale tanning salon chain plans to open more than 30 locations in the Baltimore, MD/Washington, DC market.

The Collyard Group, LLC (952-593-6177) is representing MegaStar Cinemas, LLC, which is seeking multiple sites throughout the U.S. Site criteria include a population of 150,000 residing within a five-mile radius earning an average household income of $60,000 or more and a five-mile radius clear of competing theaters with stadium seating.

Epsteen & Associates (310-451-8171) is representing Lakeshore Learning Materials’ expansion plans in CA. The educational materials retailer operates 28 locations nationwide and occupies spaces of 7,000 sq.ft. to 8,000 sq.ft. in freestanding locations. The company, which operates 28 stores, is focusing on opening select locations in major cities and prefers to be the only freestanding building in a lot. Epsteen & Associates also is representing Fresh Choice in Los Angeles and Orange County, CA. The self-service restaurant chain operates 45 units and occupies spaces of 6,000 sq.ft. to 6,500 sq.ft., with a patio, in white collar office locations and prominent entertainment centers. The company also is representing Golfsmith’s expansion plans throughout the greater Los Angeles area of CA. The retailer of golf equipment operates 25 locations nationwide and occupies spaces of 10,000 sq.ft. to 12,000 sq.ft. in power centers. The company prefers sites with freeway exposure. In the greater Los Angeles area of CA, Epsteen & Associates is representing The Children’s Place. The retailer of children’s apparel operates more than 540 locations nationwide and occupies spaces of 4,000 sq.ft. in malls, power centers and street fronts. Magnolia Hi-Fi’s expansion plans in the greater Los Angeles area of CA also are being represented by Epsteen & Associates. The electronics retailer operates 13 stores in CA, OR and WA, and occupies spaces of 10,000 sq.ft. in freestanding locations, strip centers and pad and endcap locations. Plans call for three openings during the coming 18 months. Epsteen & Associates is representing Petco’s expansion plans in the Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernadino, Ventura and Central Coast areas of CA. The retailer of pet supplies operates 260 stores nationwide and occupies spaces of 12,000 sq.ft. to 15,000 sq.ft. in freestanding locations and neighborhood and strip centers. Epsteen & Associates, in cooperation with R.L. Pratt & Associates, is representing Staples, Inc.’s expansion plans throughout the greater Los Angeles area of CA. The office supply retailer operates 1,500 stores nationwide and occupies spaces of 20,000 sq.ft. in freestanding locations and power centers. The company prefers to cotenant with Home Depot. Epsteen & Associates also is representing El Super in the greater Los Angeles area of CA. The supermarket chain operates five locations in CA and occupies spaces of 30,000 sq.ft. to 35,000 sq.ft. in strip centers. The company seeks locations within Hispanic communities.

Katz & Associates (845-735-6666) is exclusively handling all retail real estate transactions for Carter’s, a retailer of apparel for infants and children. The company’s stores use 4,000 sq.ft. to 4,500 sq.ft.

Horizon Management (847-870-8585) is managing the retail component of a mixed-use development in Arlington Heights, IL that is owned by Avalon Bay Communities Inc. The company will handle daily management activities as well as oversee an exterior renovation of the center, which will be renamed The Shoppes at Avalon.

Keen Consultants, LLC (516-482-2700) is representing Cooker Bar and Grille in the disposition of its restaurants as part of a bankruptcy sale. The company is selling 12 properties from 7,000 sq.ft. to 9,300 sq.ft. in FL, KY, MI, NC, OH and TN. The company is leasing three properties from 7,800 sq.ft. to 10,000 sq.ft. in FL and KY. JBG Rosenfeld Retail (301-657-0700) secured retail listings for about 21,000 sq.ft. of ground-level retail at Reston Square in Reston, VA and about 30,000 sq.ft. at Columbia House in Washington, DC. The company also is the exclusive mid-Atlantic tenant representative for Video Warehouse.

Excess Space Disposition, Inc. (516-365-6400) was selected by Staples, Inc. to manage the disposition of a total of 219,228 sq.ft. in CA, IN, MI, OR and TX. The company also is handling the disposition of 32 Staples locations totaling 584,333 sq.ft. in AL, AZ, CA, FL, IN, MA, ME, NH, NJ and PA.

Northwest Atlantic Group (847-375-9966) was retained by VoiceStream Wireless Corp. to oversee the site selection and leasing process of more than 100 stores in CA and NV. As part of the contract, Northwest Atlantic Group will conduct market planning, mapping and demographic analysis, site selection and transaction negotiations. The stores will range in size from 150 sq.ft. mall kiosks to 2,000 sq.ft. endcap and inline locations.

CB Richard Ellis, Inc. (714-939-2100) was tapped to represent Maytag for site selection in Orange County, CA.

N.Y.C. Realty (201-227-9792) is exclusively representing Food Baazar in New York, NY. The supermarket chain is looking for 35,000 sq.ft. to 50,000 sq.ft. locations and plans to open about 10 stores during the coming 18 months. The company also is exclusively representing Bogapa Plaza, a 100,000 sq.ft. neighborhood shopping center that is under development at the intersection of Nostrand and DeKalb in Brooklyn, NY. The center will be anchored by a 50,000 sq.ft. Food Baazar.

Charter Realty & Development Corp. (203-629-3939) was retained by WP Realty to redevelop and release Carmen’s Plaza in Massapequa, NY. The 200,000 sq.ft. center is anchored by Pathmark, Duane Reade and Blockbuster. The center has a vacant 108,000 sq.ft. building that formerly housed Caldor. Area demographics include a trade area population of 384,000 earning an average household income of $99,000.
