Weingarten Realty Investors acquired seven supermarket-anchored shopping centers in the Raleigh-Durham area of NC from Bob Hughes and Associates. The acquired centers include the 111,600 sq.ft. Avant Ferry shopping center, which is anchored by Food Lion and the United States Postal Service; the 156,000 sq.ft. Capital Square, which is anchored by Food Lion and Mars Music; the 90,000 sq.ft. High House center, which is anchored by Harris Teeter and Ace Hardware; the 58,400 sq.ft. Mineral Springs center, which is anchored by Food Lion and Eckerd; the 77,800 sq.ft. Northwoods center, which is anchored by Food Lion and Eckerd; the 188,300 sq.ft. Stonehenge Market Place, which is anchored by Harris Teeter and Stein Mart, and the 468,100 sq.ft. Six Forks center, which is anchored by Food Lion, Home Depot, Eckerd, Borders, Bed Bath & Beyond and Kmart. In a separate transaction, the company acquired Pitman Corners, a 189,000 sq.ft. center located in Plano, TX from an undisclosed seller. The center, which is anchored by Albertson’s and McDonald’s, was acquired for $16.8 million.

The company also acquired Hacienda Plaza, a 135,000 sq.ft. neighborhood shopping center that is located at the intersection of Azusa Avenue and Colima Road in Hacienda Heights, CA. The 94% leased center is anchored by Albertson’s. The company purchased Decatur Meadows, a 111,000 sq.ft. neighborhood shopping center located at the intersection of Decatur Boulevard and Meadows Lane in Las Vegas, NV. The 95% leased center is anchored by a Vons supermarket.
