Katz & Associates (845-735-6666) hired Leslie B. Collins as director of real estate in the southern region. Collins will be based out of the company’s new Atlanta, GA office and will assist clients in the AL, GA and TN markets. Prior to joining Katz & Associates, Collins was the president of her own company, Cobblestone Realty Services, Inc., a full-service brokerage firm located in Marietta, GA. There she handled outparcel sales for new developments, co-developed a number of CVS drug stores and served as a tenant rep for multiple clients, including Brinker International, Mattress Expo and Burger King. Prior to that, Collins served as vice president of leasing at Concordia Investments with the responsibility of anchor leasing, outparcel sales and site selection for the CVS preferred developer program.

Zifkin Realty & Development, LLC (312-575-8650) hired Jason C. Gustaveson as an associate, where he will focus on the site selection and leasing of urban retail space in the Chicago, IL and suburban downtown markets for national tenants. Prior to working with Zifkin Realty, Gustaveson was a retail property specialist with Pontarelli & Co., where he negotiated more than $2.5 million in commercial sale and lease transactions. He also served as an independent consultant on public and private planning projects for Land Strategies, Inc. In 2000, he was due diligence coordinator with Greenberg Farrow Architecture Engineering Development where he coordinated all due diligence documentation required to close large-scale commercial/retail projects for national retail chains.

Cold Stone Creamery (480-348-1704) named Brett Sheets the company’s director of real estate. Sheets has over 12 years of commercial real estate experience and joins Cold Stone Creamery from The Rubin Cos., where he served as director of leasing. Sheets will be responsible for all aspects of real estate. Last year, the company opened 144 locations and is slated to open 300 this year, as part of its aggressive plan to open 1,000 stores in the U.S. by the end of 2004. This year, the real estate team has fully executed 175 leases with an additional 70 leases in various stages of negotiation. Sheets will be responsible for helping execute the remaining 125 leases nationwide to achieve the company’s store opening goal.
