CB Richard Ellis, Inc. is preleasing the 115,000 sq.ft. Northwest Plaza, which was formerly a Kmart store, located at the intersection of Michigan Road and Vincennes Road in Indianapolis, IN. The center is expected to be tenanted by bookstores, electronics retailers, restaurants, service retailers and clothing stores. Plans call for an outparcel building up to 7,500 sq.ft. Demographics include a trade-area population earning $104,000 as the average household income.

R.H. Ledbetter Properties, Inc. is developing The Highlands, a 390,000 sq.ft. center located at the intersection of Highway 515 and Highland Parkway in East Ellijay, GA with an average daily traffic count of 12,800 vehicles. The 390,000 sq.ft. center is anchored by Wal*Mart Supercenter and Lowe’s Home Improvement. Small shop spaces are available. Area retail includes Ingles.

Weitz Co. is developing the following sites: Peoria Station, a 40,700 sq.ft. center located at 10260 North 67th Avenue in Peoria, AZ. The center, which is slated for a November opening, will be tenanted by an 11,700 sq.ft. Tutor Time Daycare center; Phase I of Suprirse Marketplace, which will include 30,000 sq.ft. at the intersection of Bell and Grand Avenue in Surprise, AZ. Tenants are expected to include Lane Bryant and Bed Bath & Beyond. Area retail includes Target and Lowe’s Home Improvement Center; and Phase II of Zocallo Shops, which will include 13,000 sq.ft., located at the intersection of Scottsdale Road and Greenway-Hayden in Phoenix, AZ. Phase II is slated to open this month.

Mid-Northern Equities Management, Ltd. and Mid-America Investment and Development Co. is leasing Mundelein Crossing, a 550,000 sq.ft. center located at the intersection of Route 60 and Route 83 in Mundelein, IL. Opening is slated for October 2004. Phase I is 303,000 sq.ft. and is 72% preleased with a 175,000 sq.ft. Super Target and a 48,000 sq.ft. T.J. Maxx N More store. Phase I will have an additional 77,000 sq.ft. of shop space and at least 12 outlot pad sites.

Pine Tree Commercial Realty, LLC is developing Phase III of Deer Trace Plaza, a 470,000 sq.ft. center located in Kohler, WI. The 14-acre phase to the north of the existing center includes 129,400 sq.ft. of retail space that will be anchored by a 105,000 sq.ft. Target. Other tenants include a 9,000 sq.ft. Pier 1 Imports, a 4,600 sq.ft. Maurices and a 2,600 sq.ft. Great Clips. These tenants are expected to open during Summer 2004. The center is currently anchored by a 120,000 sq.ft. Home Depot. Phase II included 155,000 sq.ft. on 14 acres with a 54,575 sq.ft. Elder-Beerman department store as the anchor. Other retailers in Phase II included T.J. Maxx, Michaels Arts & Crafts, Famous Footwear, Fashion Bug, Dress Barn, Dollar Tree, Hallmark, Suncom Cell, Bath & Body Works and Radio Shack.

Kimco Developers, Inc. is developing the retail component in Avenues Walk, a 600,000 sq.ft. center located near Philips Highway and Interstate 95 in Jacksonville, FL. The mixed-use project will include retail, 50,000 sq.ft. of office space, 400 hotel rooms and 1,050 apartments and condominiums on a land area of 161 acres. Construction is expected to begin during Spring 2005, with the first stores opening during Spring 2006. It is expected to take 10 years to complete the project. The Halle Cos. is developing Phase II of the Kingstowne Towne Center, a 1,200-acre development located in Kingstowne, VA. Phase II will consist of a 16-screen stadium seating movie theater, 22,000 sq.ft. of retail and restaurant space and 155,000 sq.ft. of office space.

The MGHerring Group is planning to develop The Imperial Valley Mall, a center located at the intersection of Dogwood and Chick Roads in Imperial Valley, CA. Proposed tenants include JCPenney, Dillard’s and Robinsons-May. Opening is slated for March 2005.

Finard & Co. is preleasing South Cape Village, a 160,000 sq.ft. village style center located on Route 28 in Mashpee, MA. The center will be developed in the style of a traditional New England village, with pedestrian pathways surrounding landscaped village squares. Tenants will include national, regional and local retailers and restaurants. Construction of the 42,000 sq.ft. Roche Bros. Supermarket and an additional 15,000 sq.ft. of space began in August.
