DeBartolo Development (813-908-8400) changed its name from DeBartolo Property Group. The company, which will maintain its headquarters in Tampa, inherits a business portfolio consisting of nearly 800 million sq.ft. under development. The company will continue to maintain offices in Cleveland, OH; Phoenix, AZ and Pittsburgh, PA. To run the new affiliate, DeBartolo has named Edward Kobel as president and chief operating officer. Prior to joining DeBartolo, Kobel was a partner of Fortis Advisors. During his tenure, he developed approximately $600 million worth of real estate projects.

 

RMC Property Group (813-960-8154) hired Zachary Schlitt as a project manager in the company’s development division, managing its entitlement, permitting and construction projects.

 

Acadia Realty (914-288-8100) hired Paul Monaco as senior leasing representative. Acadia Realty Trust is a fully integrated, self-managed REIT that specializes in the acquisition, ownership and redevelopment of supermarket-anchored centers throughout the Northeastern and Midwestern U.S.

 

Rawson, Blum & Leon (415-981-3600) announced that Russell R. Pratt, John H. Reininga Jr. and Malcolm R. Riley have formed a strategic alliance with the company to invest in and develop shopping centers throughout the western U.S. Pratt has participated in the shopping center development industry for over 30 years and has completed more than 14 centers totaling over two million sq.ft. of retail space. Reininga is the president of Reininga Corp., a firm he founded in 1967. The company has developed more than three million sq.ft. of space in the western states. Riley is president and founder of Malcolm Riley & Associates.

 

Boston Properties (415-772-0700) appointed Steve Austin as property manager for Embarcadero Center located in San Francisco, CA. Austin will direct the property management functions at One and Two Embarcadero Center and will oversee both the management office and the tenant and concierge service departments. Austin replaces Rick Buziak, who will move over to the company’s leasing group as a leasing manager. Austin previously served as director of asset management for the Barker Pacific Group and then went on to become general manager of One Market Plaza for Equity Office Properties Trust.
