Who's Opening & Where Target Corp. (612-304-6073) opened a 175,000 sq.ft. Target at Harlem Irving Plaza, a 700,000 sq.ft. center located at the intersection of Harlem Avenue, Forest Preserve Drive and Irving Park Road in Chicago, IL. The two-story Target, which also houses a Starbucks and Pizza Hut, joins anchor tenants Carson Pirie Scott and Kohl’s. The enclosed mall features 140 stores and specialty food venues. Target Corp. currently operates 1,249 stores throughout 47 states.
Neiman Marcus (800-634-6267) is planning to open a store at the Natick Mall in Natick, MA. The store will anchor the center’s 550,000 sq.ft. expansion. The two-level, 100,000 sq.ft. building is slated to open during Spring 2007.
Beall’s (800-250-9206) is planning to open a department store at the Regency Commons Shopping Center, which is currently under construction north of Regency Square Mall in Jacksonville, FL. The company currently operates department stores in Mandarin, Jacksonville Beach, St. Augustine Beach, Fernandina Beach and Orange Park, FL. It also operates Beall’s Outlet Stores throughout the region.
Publix (863-688-1188) is planning to open a store in Vista Lakes, FL, a master-planned community. The 45,000 sq.ft. store anchors a 112,000 sq.ft. center located in the Vista Village Town Center. Cotenants include AmSouth Bank, Subway, Hair Masters, Atlantis Real Estate, Golden Buffet, Global Communications, The Movie Reel, The UPS Store, Eye Associates and Florida Home & Investment Realty.
Subway (203-877-4281) is planning to open approximately 24 sub shops throughout the Tampa Bay, FL area this year. The company also is working to add to its new prototype shops that feature a modern Tuscany décor in spaces of about 1,500 sq.ft. The company currently operates approximately 19,000 stores and plans to develop more than 30,000 worldwide.
Ann Taylor Stores Corp. (212-541-3300) opened an Ann Taylor Loft store at the Mall at Green Hills in Nashville, TN. The store opened in the new Hecht’s Court lower level. The store features upper to moderate-priced collections for women. Ann Taylor operates approximately 650 stores throughout 42 states nationwide, as well as Washington, DC and Puerto Rico.
Ruby Tuesday ((865-379-5700) is planning to open a restaurant at the Wal*Mart Shopping Center located at the intersection of New Jersey Route 66 and Jumping Brook Road in Neptune, NJ. The company currently owns, operates and franchises more than 650 casual-dining restaurants throughout the U.S. The company also is planning to open locations in North Haven, CT and Middletown, NY later this year.
Shaw’s Supermarkets (508-378-7211) opened a supermarket at Derby Plaza, a center located on Route 5 at Exit 28 of Interstate 91 in Derby, VT. The site has an average daily traffic count of 12,400 vehicles. The space was previously occupied by Ames Department Store. The company currently operates approximately 200 stores under the Shaw’s and Star Markets banners throughout CT, MA, ME, NH, RI and VT.
Pier 1 Imports, Inc. (817-878-8000) is planning to open a 9,400 sq.ft. Pier 1 Imports store at Towne Crossing, a 430,000 sq.ft. center located on County Route 542, also known as Burlington-Mt. Holly Road, in Burlington, NJ. The center is cotenanted by Burger King, Dick’s Sporting Goods, OfficeMax, Target, Home Depot, Kohl’s and T.G.I. Friday’s. Area retail includes Regional Burlington Center Mall and Regal Cinema complex. Pier 1 Imports, Inc. operates approximately 1,100 Pier 1 Imports stores throughout the U.S. and Canada and through its The Pier chain with 29 stores in the U.K.
Chick-fil-A, Inc. (404-765-8000) opened a restaurant at 10105 Broadway Street in Pearland, TX. The company currently operates more than 150 restaurants throughout the state. Overall, the company operates more than 1,140 restaurants throughout 37 states and Washington, DC. The chain is planning to open more than 90 restaurants this year, including 72 freestanding locations.
IKEA Corp. (610-834-0180) is planning to open a store near Interstate 595 and Nob Hill Road in Davie, FL. Opening is slated for 2006. Plans for the 40-acre site could include a 310,000 sq.ft. store. The company also is planning to open an Atlanta, GA store during Summer 2005. The company currently operates more than 190 stores throughout 31 countries, including 18 locations in the U.S. Besides Atlanta, the company is looking to open stores in Bloomington, MN; Brooklyn, NY; Dublin, CA; Frisco, TX; New Haven, CT; Philadelphia, PA; Somerville and Stoughton, MA and Tempe, AZ.
Salvation Army National Corp. (703-684-5500) is planning to open a Salvation Army Thrift Store in Pearland, TX.
