Real Estate Professionals Making The News RED Development (480-556-7751) hired Stephen Barnhouse to lead the newly-formed RED Asset Management, Inc. as vice president of operations. Joining Barnhouse in a management capacity is Cynthia A. Chain, who will serve as manager of property accounting. RED Asset Management was formed to oversee all facets of the property for RED Development’s existing and future property portfolio. Initially, Barnhouse is responsible for implementation of new property management software, establishing operating and accounting policies and procedures, personnel and other tasks related to establishing the new entity. He will be responsible for the overall operation of RED’s shopping center portfolio including operations, marketing, investment partner relationships, maintenance, accounting and customer service. Chain brings more than 20 years experience in the retail industry. Prior to joining the company, Chain served as Controller for CW Associates in Overland Park, KS. The company also hired Wendy Chapman as a leasing associate. She will focus on leasing RED’s current and future shopping center portfolio throughout NE, as well as RED’s national portfolio of lifestyle and community centers. Chapman joins the company after spending the past 16 years at One Pacific Place in Omaha, NE, serving most recently as general manager where she oversaw property management, leasing and marketing efforts.
NAI Hiffman (630-693-0640) announced that Christopher A. Hekis joined the company as an associate in the retail brokerage group. Hekis will specialize in landlord and tenant representation, focusing on the growing real estate requirements of Cleveland, OH-based Charter One Financial.
Combined Properties, Inc. (202-293-4500) promoted Katherine Roberson to the position of president. Roberson assumed the role of executive vice president in May 2000. During her 13 years in the business, Roberson has held the positions of acquisitions manager, director of finance, senior vice president of capital markets, chief financial officer and executive vice president. She began her career at Combined Properties as an MBA intern while a student at George Washington University.
NAI Olympia Partners (317-264-9400) designated Mark R. Figg as vice president and principal. Figg has been with the company since 2001 and his main focus will be in comprehensive investment advisory services.
