General Growth Properties is planning a 240,000 sq.ft. expansion of Clackamas Town Center in Clackamas, OR. The expansion would also add a 16-to-18 screen movie theater. The plans, which are preliminary, call for an open-air design with more pedestrian amenities, restaurants and home furnishing stores. In the plan, the food court would be reconfigured using space formerly occupied by the mall’s ice rink, which closed last April and now contains a Carousel exhibit. The expansion would eventually tie the center to a new light-rail station planned for the east side of the mall. The proposed expansion should be mostly completed by Fall 2005. For more information, contact General Growth Properties, 110 North Wacker Drive, Chicago, IL 60606; 312-960-5000.
