Real Estate Professionals Making The News Festival Commercial Real Estate Services (310-665-9600) hired Mike Nichelson as vice president of asset management. In this position, Nichelson will work within the property management department, closely interfacing with leasing, development and accounting departments. Nichelson also worked with Jones Lang LaSalle as a center manager and held several positions at Trizec Properties since 1985, including accountant, director of Horton’s Farmers Market, manager of finance, senior manager of market research and financial analysis and vice president of leasing and financial services.
Crosland (704-561-5272) hired James Downs as vice president, Scott Hinson as a development manager and Jimmy Penman as a leasing associate. Downs will be responsible for initiating and overseeing Crosland’s retail opportunities north of Winston-Salem, NC and throughout VA, as well as serving customers such as Harris Teeter, Food Lion and Lowe’s Foods. His responsibilities include site selection for new development, anchor tenant procurement and collaboration with Crosland’s other divisions. Hinson will oversee construction of new retail developments in the Charlotte and Triangle regions.
Combined Properties, Inc. (202-293-4500) hired Scott Peters as executive vice president or asset management. Peters has 21 years of commercial real estate experience and was formerly executive vice president/COO/CFO for Charter Oak Partners/Rothschild Realty. During his 14-year tenure, he managed a $500 million portfolio of factory outlet centers. Responsibilities included oversight of center operations, marketing, finance and accounting, IT and human resources. Prior to that position, Peters held various accounting positions with Western Development and Cadillac Fairview Urban Development and was an auditor at Arthur Anderson. Combined Properties operates a portfolio of centers totaling over four million sq.ft.
ComNet Realty, Inc. (561-999-0006) hired Frank Berland as a sales associate specializing in commercial investment sales with an emphasis on single-tenant NNN leased properties and IRS 1031 exchanges.
