U.S. Factory Outlets, Inc. (212-563-3650) has replaced a former Wal*Mart as the anchor store in the Westridge Shopping Center in Bristol, TN. The company currently operates stores in DE, ID, IN, MA, MO, MS, ND, NJ, OH, PA, TX and VA.

 

Chick-fil-A, Inc. (404-765-8000) is planning to open approximately 90 Chick-fil-A locations this year, including 73 freestanding units. The company currently operates 1,168 restaurants throughout 37 states and Washington, DC.

 

Wal*Mart Stores, Inc. (650-837-5000) is planning to open a 138,000 sq.ft. Sam’s Club store at the Seven Oaks Shopping Center, a 278,000 sq.ft. center located at the intersection of State Road 56 and Bruce B. Downs Boulevard in Wesley Chapel, FL. The company also is looking to open a Wal*Mart Supercenter store on a land area of about 44 acres near Citrus Plaza in Redlands, CA. The company currently operates more than 4,800 stores, including some 1,475 discount stores, 1,750 Wal-Mart Supercenters and 540 Sam’s Club stores nationwide. Wal*Mart also has operations in Asia, Europe, and South America.

 

Camping World, Inc. (270-781-2718) is planning to open a 10,000 sq.ft. Camping World RV accessories store in Statesville, NC, as well as a 7,000 sq.ft. store at Shipp’s RV Center in Chattanooga, TN. Opening for the NC store is slated for January. The company sells RV accessories and supplies through its website, catalogs and more than 30 stores throughout approximately 20 states.

 

Target Corp. (612-304-6073) is planning to open locations throughout the Memphis, TN area. Target also is planning to open a store on 22 acres on U.S. 441 North in Mount Dora, FL. Opening is slated for December 2005. Target has existing area stores in Clermont, the Villages in Lady Lake and at Lake Square Mall in Leesburg. The company currently operates 1,272 stores throughout 47 states, including 126 SuperTarget locations throughout 20 states.

 

Panera Bread Co. (314-633-7100) is looking to open a Panera Bread restaurant in Wentzville, MO next year. The company currently operates more than 670 bakery/cafes throughout about 35 states. Its locations operate under the Panera and St. Louis Bread Co. tradenames.

 

Supervalu, Inc. (952-828-4000) is planning to open a Shop ‘n Save supermarket at the East Liberty Station Shopping Center located on Penn Avenue in Pittsburgh, PA. The store will occupy 48,000 sq.ft. and will take over space formerly occupied by Phar-Mor. Opening is slated for February 2005. The company currently operates 81 Shop ‘n Save stores. Supervalu, Inc. also operates more than 1,400 stores throughout nearly 40 states. These include superstores such as Shoppers Food Warehouse, Cub Foods, Shop ‘n Save, and bigg’s; formats like Save-A-Lot and general merchandiser Deal$ - Nothing Over A Dollar; and about 60 supermarkets operating as Farm Fresh, Scott’s Foods and Hornbachers.

 

Bass Pro Shops (417-873-5000) is planning to open a 160,000 sq.ft. store in Independence, MO during 2006. Overall, the company is looking to open 12 to 14 stores annually for the next two years. The company currently operates 22 Outdoor World stores throughout 13 states. The outlets sell boats, campers, equipment and apparel for most outdoor activities and offer features such as archery ranges, fish tanks, snack bars and video arcades.

 

Dots (440-349-7900) is planning to open 50 stores this year, as well as more locations next year. The company is looking to open 4,000 sq.ft. to 6,000 sq.ft. stores at supermarket-anchored centers. Dots prefers metropolitan areas and urban/neighborhood locations. Area demographics include a population of 90,000 within three miles earning $45,000 as the average household income.

 

Gander Mountain (952-830-8700) is planning to open an 88,000 sq.ft. store at WaterWalk, a center located in downtown Wichita, KS. Opening is slated for September 2005. The company currently operates 75 stores throughout 11 states.

 

Walgreen Co. (847-914-2500) is planning to open a Walgreens store on Forest Avenue on Glen Cove, Long Island, NY. Overall, the company is planning to open 450 locations next year. The company currently operates 4,582 stores throughout 44 states and Puerto Rico.

 

Lowe’s Cos., Inc. (336-658-4000) is planning to open a Lowe’s Home Improvement store at the intersection of K-15 and 63rd Street South in Derby, KS. The store will be situated on a land area of 12 acres. The company currently operates more than 930 superstores throughout approximately 45 states.

 

Fired Up, Inc. (512-263-0800) signed an agreement with Northwest Johnny Carino’s, LLC for the development of 18 Johnny Carino’s Italian restaurants throughout OR and WA. Fired Up, Inc. currently owns, operates and franchises 125 Johnny Carino’s Italian restaurants throughout 25 states and the Middle East. With this signing, Fired Up, Inc. has development agreements in place with 21 franchise partners to develop Johnny Carino’s both domestically and internationally during the coming 10 years. The full-service eateries offer pizza and freshly prepared pasta along with beef, chicken and pork dishes inspired by the cuisine of Southern Italy. The company owns about half the restaurants and franchises the rest. A handful of Johnny Carino’s units are located in four other countries.

 

Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc. (405-745-1100) is planning to open three Hobby Lobby stores throughout the Jacksonville, FL area next year. The first of the stores, a 58,000 sq.ft. site, will open between Interstate 295 and St. Augustine Road during late Spring. Other stores could open in Arlington, east of the Regency Square Mall or in Orange Park, FL. The company currently operates 335 stores throughout 27 states. The company sells arts and crafts supplies, baskets, candles, frames, home-decorating accessories and silk flowers.

 

Nine West Group, Inc. (914-640-6400) is planning to open a 4,680 sq.ft. Nine West store at a space formerly occupied by Bath & Body Works in McAllen, TX. Opening is slated for December. The company currently operates 600 of its own retail and outlet stores as well as selling into department, specialty and independent shoe stores nationwide. Its brands include Nine West, Easy Spirit, Bandolino, Enzo Angiolini and Calico.

 

Publix Super Markets, Inc. (863-688-1188) is planning to open 61 Publix stores this year. The company is currently more than halfway through a five-year plan to open 340 stores throughout the Southeast, including locations throughout AL, FL, GA, SC and TN. Of the stores slated to open, 38 of them will be located in FL. The company currently operates 824 stores, including 610 locations throughout FL; 153 in GA; 35 in SC; 19 in AL and seven in TN. The company also operates four “Pix” convenience stores throughout FL.

 

Captain D’s, LLC (615-231-2049) is looking to open Captain D’s Seafood locations, which occupy spaces of 2,400 sq.ft., nationwide. Preferred demographics include a trade-area population of 25,000 earning $30,000 to $50,000 as the average household income.

  

Pier 1 Imports, Inc. (817-878-8000) is planning to open an 11,000 sq.ft. Pier 1 Imports store at the Tavernier Towne Shopping Center in Tavernier, FL. The company sells about 4,000 items at 1,100 Pier 1 Imports stores throughout the U.S. and Canada. Pier 1 also operates The Pier chain with 29 stores throughout the United Kingdom.

 

Dairy Queen International, Inc. (952-830-0200) is planning to open a DQ Grill & Chill restaurant in Bahrain. The menu is similar to that in the U.S., with the exception of the use of all-beef bacon to adhere to religious dietary laws in the area. The store will be highlighted by a modern, open-air grill, separate grill and chill sections, booths and large wooden tables and music. The store was opened by Jawad Business Group, which operates 12 Dairy Queen restaurants throughout the Middle East. The company currently operates 33 DQ Grill & Chill locations throughout North America, with another 20 planned to open by the end of the year. Overall, Dairy Queen International, Inc. operates 5,700 stores throughout the U.S., Canada and other foreign countries.

 

Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, Inc. (303-846-6000) is planning to open a Red Robin restaurant at a space formerly occupied by Bally’s Total Fitness on Miller Road in Flint Township, MI. The company currently operates a chain of more than 230 casual-dining restaurants throughout 27 U.S. states and Canada that specialize in high-end hamburgers. The company owns about half of its locations and franchises the rest.

 

The Krystal Co. (423-757-1550) is planning to open a Krystal hamburger restaurant at the intersection of Interstate 35 and Williams Road in Georgetown, TX next year. Overall, the company is looking to open 18 restaurants throughout TX, including locations throughout Dallas and Houston. Currently, the company operates Krystal restaurants in Beaumont and Killeen, TX. The company’s chain of more than 430 restaurants in almost a dozen southern states are known for their petite, square hamburgers. In addition, Krystal’s menu includes chicken sandwiches, chili, corn dogs, breakfast sandwiches and dessert items. Krystal also sells its burgers through several grocery chains. The company owns and operates nearly 250 of its locations; the rest are franchised.

 

BJ’s Wholesale Club, Inc. (508-651-7400) is planning to open a concept called Pro Foods, which is open only to restaurateurs. The first Pro Foods store is slated to open this month in a 56,000 sq.ft. space located in the Bronx, NY. A second location, which will occupy 68,000 sq.ft., is slated for Long Island City in Queens, NY. The Bronx site is located near the New York and Bronx terminal markets, while the Long Island City unit will open adjacent to midtown Manhattan near the 59th Street Bridge and Queens Midtown Tunnel. Pro Foods will leverage BJ’s expertise in the membership operations with small businesses, including restaurants. The company currently operates approximately 150 locations throughout 16 states, mostly in the Northeast. BJ’s stores sell about 6,500 products, including canned, fresh, and frozen foods. It also sells general merchandise, including apparel, housewares, office equipment, small appliances and gas.

 

American Furniture Electronics Appliances (608-271-1000) is planning to open a 126,000 sq.ft. store on Mid Rivers Mall Drive in Cottleville, MO. The interior will include a retail display floor for TVs, stereos, computers, kitchen appliances, washers and dryers and bedroom, dining and living room furniture. In addition, there will be a warehouse, service center, delivery prep area and car stereo installation department. The company currently operates IA locations in Des Moines and Davenport; WI locations in Madison, Appleton, Marquette and Milwaukee; and IL locations in Rockford and Peoria.

 

Ninety Nine Restaurant & Pub (781-932-5157) is planning to open 5,680 sq.ft. restaurants throughout DE, New England, NJ, NY and PA. Preferred demographics include a population of 50,000 within three miles earning $54,000 as the average household income. The company prefers a site with an average daily traffic count of 30,000 vehicles.

 

Rainbow Apparel Cos. (718-485-3000) is planning to open a 4,200 sq.ft. Rainbow Shops store at Oakland Park Festival Centre, a 135,000 sq.ft. center located on North Andrews Avenue in Oakland Park, FL. The company currently operates more than 1,000 stores throughout 38 states and Puerto Rico. The center is cotenanted by Winn-Dixie, Dollar General, Rent-A-Center, Radio Shack, Bismilia Beauty and a U.S. Post Office. Rainbow is taking over the former One Price Clothing space.

 

Back Yard Burgers, Inc. (901-367-0888) is planning to open a Back Yard Burgers restaurant in San Antonio, TX this month. The chain offers black Angus beef burgers, chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, salads, chili, shakes and cobblers. The company operates and franchises more than 130 of its signature fast food restaurants throughout 17 southern and midwestern states. Most of the company’s restaurants offer both dine-in and drive-through service. Franchisees own and operate more than two-thirds of Back Yard Burgers’ locations.

 

In-N-Out Burgers, Inc. (949-509-6200) is planning to open 10 In-N-Out Burger restaurants this year. The company currently owns and operates 186 restaurants located primarily throughout CA.

 

Staples, Inc. (508-253-5000) is planning to open as many as 48 Staples stores throughout the Chicago, IL area early next year. Most of the stores are located in the U.S. and Canada, but Staples also has stores in Belgium, Germany, Portugal, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

 

The Cheesecake Factory, Inc. (818-871-3000) is planning to open a Grand Lux Café restaurant in Houston, TX during December. The company currently operates 84 upscale, casual-dining restaurants under The Cheesecake Factory name. The company also operates a bakery production facility that produces over 50 varieties of cheesecake and other baked products for the company’s restaurants. Additionally, the company operates Grand Lux Café restaurants in Los Angeles, CA; Las Vegas, NV and Dallas, TX and one self-service, limited-menu “express” foodservice operation under The Cheesecake Factory Express tradename inside the DisneyQuest family entertainment center in Orlando, FL.

Under the concept, Washington Mutual and Starbucks share their lobby. The first Hometown Blend is located at the Sarasota Crossings Shopping Center, which is located at the intersection of Interstate 75 and Fruitville Road in Sarasota, FL. Washington Mutual has installed state-of-the-art self banking modules, while the lobby has been designed so that the two companies can operate together during overlapping business hours. Starbucks operates and licenses 7,569 coffee shops throughout more than 30 countries. Starbucks operates more than 4,700 of its shops in five countries, mostly in the U.S., while licensees operate more than 2,800 units, primarily in centers and airports. The company also owns and franchises the Seattle’s Best Coffee and Torrefazione Italia chains in the U.S., with more than 100 shops. Washington Mutual operates approximately 2,200 banking facilities nationwide.
