Who's Opening & Where IKEA Corp. (610-834-0180) is planning to open an Atlanta, GA store during Summer 2005. The company currently operates more than 190 stores throughout 31 countries, including 18 locations in the U.S. Besides Atlanta, the company is looking to open stores in Bloomington, MN; Brooklyn, NY; Dublin, CA; Frisco, TX; New Haven, CT; Philadelphia, PA; Somerville and Stoughton, MA and Tempe, AZ.
Cartridge World (510-594-9900) is planning to open four stores throughout central TX. Two stores set to open at the end of this year will be in Round Rock and Cedar Park. The two other locations have not been identified. The stores typically average between 1,000 sq.ft. to 1,600 sq.ft.
Oogles n Googles (317-228-9177) is planning to open nine locations throughout 11 cities nationwide. Stores are opening in Indianapolis, IN; Charlotte, NC; Madison, WI; western Milwaukee, WI; St. Louis, MO; Phoenix and Scottsdale, AZ; Jacksonville, FL; Bloomington and Terra Haute, IN and Portland, OR. The company offers birthday parties and programs for kids. Steve & Barry’s University (516-829-4730) is planning to open the following stores: at Desert Sky Mall in Phoenix, AZ; Colonie Center Mall in Albany, NY; Chicago Ridge Mall in Chicago, IL and Palisades Mall in West Nyack, NY. The company currently operates 42 stores throughout 16 states.
Pier 1 Imports, Inc. (817-878-8000) is planning to open a 10,800 sq.ft. store in Lakewood, CO. The company currently operates 26 stores throughout CO, including 15 in the Denver area. Overall, Pier 1 operates more than 1,000 stores throughout all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the United Kingdom. This year, the company plans to open 115 stores in markets where it has only one store, as well as growing metropolitan areas.
Kohl’s Corp. (262-703-7000) is planning to open a Kohl’s store on Transit Road in Lancaster, NY. The company also is looking to open two other stores during early 2005, including locations on Niagara Falls Boulevard in Amherst, NY and at the Quaker Crossing Shopping Center located on Milestrip Road in Orchard Park, NY. The company currently operates approximately 600 discount department stores throughout 38 states.
Weis Markets, Inc. (570-286-4571) is planning to open a 53,712 sq.ft. superstore at the Honeygo Village Center located at the intersection of Scott Way and Honeygo Boulevard in Whitemarsh, MD. The superstore features include a full-service deli with a brick oven pizza operation, a made-to-order hoagie and sandwich station and a sit-down dining area. The deli, which has an express register, also includes a sushi station, an olive bar and offers home meals. The store also has a 600-item produce department, an organic and natural food selection, a full-service pharmacy, a bakery, a service meat case and a seafood case. The company currently operates 158 stores throughout MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA and WV. In addition to the Weis Markets banner, the company also runs stores under the Mr. Z’s Food Mart, King’s Supermarkets, Save-A-Lot and Scot’s Lo-Cost names. Weis Markets also owns more than 30 SuperPetz pet supply stores throughout 11 southern and midwestern states.
Movie Gallery, Inc. (334-677-2108) is planning to open 15 Game Zone stores this year. The company currently owns and operates more than 2,300 video specialty stores nationwide.
Jack-In-The-Box (858-571-2121) is planning to open approximately 60 Jack-In-The-Box restaurants this year, as well as 67 Qdoba restaurants. Barney’s New York, Inc. (212-339-7300) is planning to open Barney’s New York CO-OP stores at the South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, CA and at Phipps Plaza in Atlanta, GA. The South Coast Plaza location will be 8,600 sq.ft., while the Phipps Plaza store will be 7,000 sq.ft. Both stores are slated to open during the first quarter of fiscal 2005. Barney’s New York is a luxury retailer with flagship stores in New York, NY; Beverly Hills, CA and Chicago, IL. In addition, the company operates three regional full-price stores, three CO-OP Barneys New York stores, eleven outlet stores and two semi-annual warehouse sale events.

The store will be located on a pad site near the Penn Crossing Shopping Center. The space was formerly occupied by Grandy’s restaurant. Wal*Mart currently operates eight Neighborhood Market stores throughout Oklahoma City, Edmond, Moore and The Village, OK.
Cold Stone Creamery (480-348-1704) is planning to open 32 stores throughout NC during the coming three to five years.
