The mixed-use project will include first floor retail space topped by over 100 upscale residential apartments complete with onsite parking. The company also is preleasing The Wedgewood Building, a center located at the intersection of South Park Street and Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair, NJ. The Taubman Co. is developing Northlake Mall, a 1.2 million sq.ft. mall located at the intersection of Interstate 77 and Reames Road in Charlotte, NC. Opening is slated for the Fall. Westfield is developing a 550,000 sq.ft. expansion project at the Westfield Shoppingtown Southcenter Mall in the Seattle/Tacoma, WA area. The expansion is slated to begin this summer and will increase the mall’s GLA to 1.7 million sq.ft. The expansion project will add an estimated 80 to 100 stores on the south end of the mall, including five to six sit-down restaurants, a 16-screen movie theater and two parking garages. Half of the project, including the movie theater, is set to open during the Spring 2007, with the remainder of the project opening in Spring 2008.
