Best Buy Co., Inc. (612-291-1000) is planning to open a 30,000 sq.ft. Best Buy store at Stony Creek Marketplace at the intersection of State Route 37 and Pleasant Street in Noblesville, IN. The company currently operates over 780 stores throughout the U.S. and Canada. The company operates its stores under the retail banners Best Buy, Future Shop in Canada and Magnolia Audio Video throughout the western U.S. PetsMart, Inc. (623-580-6100) also is planning to open a 20,000 sq.ft. PetsMart store at the Stony Creek Marketplace. The company currently operates more than 700 superstores throughout the U.S. and Canada.

 

Caboodle Cartridge (408-988-0064) is planning to open several locations nationwide this year. The company recently opened its first location outside of CA in Eugene, OR. The company offers customers the ability to walk into their stores and have printer cartridges exchanged within minutes. The company currently operates in the following locations throughout CA: Santa Clara, Saratoga, Fresno, Mountain View, Fresno East, Vallejo, Palo Alto, East Sacramento and Berkeley. The company also recently opened stores in Valley West, IA and Marlborough, MA.

 

ShopKo Stores, Inc. (920-429-2211) is planning to open a new drugstore concept called ShopKo Express Rx. The company recently opened 15,000 sq.ft. locations in Howard and Ledgeview, WI. The concept is in a neighborhood drug store format, focused on providing professional pharmacy services, health and wellness products and information, home business solutions, photo processing, as well as an assortment of food and beverages and traditional drug store merchandise. In addition, the stores will feature a comprehensive eye care center staffed by doctors of optometry. The company currently operates approximately 140 ShopKo discount stores throughout 15 midwestern, western and Pacific Northwest states. ShopKo also owns rural retailer Pamida stores, which operates about 220 small-town discount stores; about 40% of the Pamida stores have pharmacies.

 

Bebe stores, Inc. (415-715-3900) is planning to open 20 stores during fiscal 2005, which includes 11 bebe stores and nine BEBE SPORT stores. The company currently operates 205 stores, of which 180 are bebe stores and 25 are BEBE SPORT stores, located throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico and Canada.

 

AutoZone, Inc. (901-495-6500) is planning to open three stores throughout the Yakima Valley in Yakima, WA during the coming months. The stores are slated to open at the following locations: on South First Street; at the intersection of South 38th Avenue and West Nob Hill Boulevard and on Yakima Valley Highway in Sunnyside. The stores will open in May and June. Overall, the company is looking to open 200 stores nationwide this year. The company currently operates approximately 3,500 stores throughout the U.S. It also operates more than 60 stores throughout Mexico.

 

Starbucks Corp. (206-447-1575) is planning to open a Starbucks coffee shop at Logan International Airport in Boston, MA. The company currently operates and licenses more than 8,500 coffee shops throughout more than 30 countries. Starbucks operates more than 5,200 of its shops throughout five countries, mostly in the U.S., while licensees operate more than 2,800 units primarily in shopping centers and airports. The company also owns and franchises the Seattle’s Best Coffee and Torrefazione Italia chains in the U.S. with more than 100 shops.

 

Kelly’s Home Center (503-378-1793) is planning to open a store on Hagers Grove Road in Salem, OR. Kelly’s is known for having a large selection of appliances, particularly higher-end products. The proposed store will be part of about 70,000 sq.ft. of retail space, plus warehouse space and areas for expansion. The development will be situated on a land area of 9.5 acres.

 

Kohl’s Corp. (262-703-7000) is planning to open a Kohl’s store at the Crosspoint Shopping Center in Halfway, MD next month. The company currently operates approximately 637 discount department stores throughout 40 states. About half of its stores are in the Midwest, where Kohl’s continues to grow while rapidly expanding into other markets.

 

Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. (585-464-4664) is planning to open a 130,000 sq.ft. Wegmans store at the Hunt Valley Towne Center located in Hunt Valley, MD. Opening is slated for August. The company currently operates approximately 65 stores. Wegmans also runs about 15 Chase-Pitkin Home and Garden home improvement stores and a restaurant.

 

Cabela’s, Inc. (308-254-5505) has plans to open another Cabela’s store in NE. The company already is operating locations in Sidney and Kearney, NE. Its newest stores are 150,000 sq.ft. or larger and feature displays of mounted wildlife that include mountains of 30 feet or more. Located mainly in the Midwest, the stores include such features as waterfalls, mountain replicas, aquariums and banquet and meeting facilities. Cabela’s sells footwear, clothing, and gear for fishing, hunting, camping and other outdoor activities.

 

Hart Stores Inc. (514-354-0101) is planning to open four stores throughout Ontario and Quebec, Canada, including the first in the Toronto area. Opening for the stores is slated for next month. The company also is looking to open a store in the Quebec City, Quebec areas by August. Hart Stores, Inc is planning to open 69 mid-sized department stores under the Hart, Bargain Giant and Geant des Aubaines banners. The company operates locations in smaller markets in Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, Labrador and Ontario. The stores specialize in apparel, family footwear, home furnishings, giftware, toys and seasonal goods.

 

Gander Mountain Co. (952-830-8700) is planning to open approximately 20 Gander Mountain stores by the end of the year. The company currently operates approximately 82 outdoor sporting goods stores focused on hunting, camping and fishing in nine mainly Midwestern states. In addition to outdoor equipment and related accessories, the stores also sell apparel and footwear, as well as all terrain vehicles and gear.

 

The Home Depot, Inc. (770-433-8211) is planning to open a Home Depot store on Route 322 in Cranberry, PA later this year. The company currently operates approximately 1,870 stores throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The company also runs more than 50 EXPO Design Center stores, which have showrooms featuring bath, kitchen and lighting products.

 

Pro Golf of America, Inc. (248-737-0553) is planning to open eight stores during the early part of this year. The stores are slated to open in Ocala and Miami, FL; Eastpoint, GA; Noblesville, IN; Worcester, MA; Nanuet, NY; Reno, NV and in Newry, Ireland. The company currently operates 123 franchised locations and is growing throughout the U.S., Canada and Ireland.

 

San Francisco Oven (440-717-9450) is planning to open a restaurant in Davenport, IA on Utica Ridge Road. Opening is slated for the Spring. The company currently operates six locations, including five throughout OH and one in TX, and will soon open a restaurant in Richmond, VA. The company also is looking to open locations in Ormond Beach and Orlando, FL; Shreveport, LA; Tyler, TX; Solon, Medina and Hudson, OH and Myrtle Beach and Charleston, S.C.
