Real Estate Professionals Making The News Crosland, Inc. (704-529-1166) acquired Armistead Barkley, Inc., a Nashville, TN-based real estate development firm. Bill Barkley has been named president, while Steve Armistead was named senior vice president of Crosland’s Tennessee division, which will be based in Nashville. Armistead will head up the leasing, brokering and marketing areas for the new division. He has 16 years of experience in commercial real estate in Nashville and Boston, MA, with a focus on preleasing and business development for new projects. Barkley has more than 20 years of experience in all areas of commercial real estate and has developed more than one million sq.ft. of Class A office, retail and residential projects.
Taubman Centers, Inc. (248-258-7367) promoted senior executives Lisa A. Payne and William S. Taubman. Payne, who served as the company’s CFO since joining Taubman in 1997, has assumed the additional responsibilities of vice chairman. Taubman, executive vice president of the company since 1994, has been appointed COO and will oversee the company’s three major business units, leasing, development and center operations.
Staubach Retail (800-944-0012) recently expanded its presence in Atlanta, GA. The company announced that Ray Uttenhove will be executive vice president and managing principal and that Liz Whiteside will be senior vice president and principal. Uttenhove will lead the team of 14 retail real estate professionals and will oversee client relationships and transactions throughout the southeastern U.S. The other additions to the company’s Atlanta office will be Miranda Walker, vice president, Brian Lefkoff, senior associate, Loretta Van Zutphen, client services manager, and Lawre Dent, marketing and research manager.
Real Estate Negotiation Specialists (310-277-3551) is a new company started by Marc Benyowitz, who formerly worked as an attorney and leasing executive in the real estate market. The company will offer drafting and negotiation of leases, renewals and expansions; drafting and negotiation of purchase and sales agreements; preparation of letters of intent.
AmCap, Inc. (203-327-2001) hired Jake Bisenius as senior acquisitions associate. He will be responsible for acquisitions, dispositions and financing for the entire AmCap portfolio.
