Real Estate Professionals Making The News Jo-Ann Stores, Inc. (216-514-4567) named David Holmberg as executive vice president of store operations. Holmberg will lead the strategic execution of the company’s transition to its newer superstore format. Holmberg has responsibility for store site selection, construction and visual merchandising, as well as financial and operational performance of Jo-Ann’s chain of 858 stores nationwide.
CB Richard Ellis, Inc. (602-735-5555) promoted John Werstler and Darren Pitts to senior vice presidents in the company’s Phoenix, AZ office. Werstler is a 23-year veteran of the commercial real estate industry. Pitts is western region director of CBRE’s Retail Corporate Services specialty group, which manages the real estate development and site selection process for national retailers with aggressive expansion plans throughout the western U.S.
Prime Retail, Inc. (408-376-4150) is a new commercial real estate firm specializing in landlord representation within northern CA. The firm will be headed by Dixie Divine, president/broker and Doug Ferrari, vice president. The company will be located at 51 East Campbell Avenue, Suite 106, in Campbell, CA.
Carolina Communities Development Group (919-855-6991) promoted Charles Walker to senior vice president of land development. The Macerich Co. (310-394-6000) hired Tracey Davis as a leasing manager for two of the company’s centers in northern CA, Capitola Mall in Capitola and Northridge Mall in Salinas. Davis, who worked in the retail real estate industry for over eight years, comes to Macerich from Madison Marquette, where she serviced third-party institutions such as Calpers RREEF and The Irvine Co.
Walpert Properties (314-567-1221) hired Michael C. Erkmann as a commercial real estate broker. He will be specializing in leasing, tenant representation and brokerage of retail property. Erkmann began his career in the insurance and investment arena working for Northwestern Mutual Financial Network in San Diego, CA.
