Real Estate Professionals Making The News The Wilder Cos. (617-247-9200) hired Lori A. McWeeney as senior leasing representative. She will be responsible for retail leasing throughout the company’s portfolio, including both new developments and existing centers. McWeeney has 14 years of leasing experience. She previously worked for S.R. Weiner and Associates, where she was a senior staff member responsible for leasing various properties throughout New England.
Next Realty, LLC (312-654-8900) hired Ann Baumann as director of leasing. She will be responsible for tenant relations within the company’s Midwest property portfolio. Prior to joining Next, Baumann worked at Grubb & Ellis in its industrial services group. As an associate, she provided real estate services to owners, developers and tenants, including landlord/tenant representation, acquisition and disposition of real estate, sale/lease negotiations, property evaluation, market research and analysis and marketing.
MBA Realty (703-503-5555) hired Cary Adams as a principal. Prior to joining MBA, Adams served as a consultant to Giant Food and Silver Cos. Before that, Adams was vice president of real estate for both Hechingers and May Co. In addition to joining as a principal and director of operations, Adams will assist in strategic planning, brokerage services, acquisitions and leasing.
Opus West Corp. (602-468-7000) named Thomas Kier director of retail development for TX. Kier will head Opus West’s TX retail development opportunities, including site selection, land acquisition, governmental entitlements and lease negotiations. Kier has more than 20 years of retail and real estate experience. He was most recently with Wal*Mart Stores, Inc., where he served as real estate manager, responsible for the development of Wal*Mart Supercenters, Sam’s Clubs, Wal*Mart Discount Stores and Neighborhood Markets throughout MA, MN, NE, ND, NY and SD. Prior to joining Wal*Mart, Kier served as director of real estate for Fleming Foods.
Poag & McEwen Lifestyle Centers (901-761-7604) hired Robert J. Fargo to the development team as a development manager. In this role, Fargo will oversee conceptual development, organization, scheduling and implementation of the company’s lifestyle center developments. Prior to joining Poag & McEwen, Fargo was the director of construction for Armstrong Development in Pittsburgh, PA, where he handled permitting and construction on projects nationwide. Prior to that, Fargo served as a construction project manager for McDonald’s Restaurants and as the senior construction manager/contract negotiator for 84 Lumber Company.
