Real Estate Professionals Making The News Casto (614-744-3446) announced executive vice president James J. Cunningham will oversee the company’s commercial property management operations. In addition to continuing to manage the performance of Casto’s residential portfolio, Cunningham is now responsible for nearly 19 million sq.ft. of commercial properties throughout FL and OH. Cunningham joined the Casto organization in 2002. In 2005, he established CCMI Realty, Inc., Casto’s new residential real estate sales division, for which he is a broker of record. Prior to joining Casto, Cunningham served as senior vice president for Triangle Real Estate Services of Westerville, OH.
Next Realty, LLC (847-881-2000) hired Joseph D. Reed as principal. Reed will intensify the company’s Midwest land acquisition and development activities for retail and other value-added land opportunities. In addition, he will drive Midwest retail development, taking qualified land sites through development to completion. Before joining Next, Reed was regional vice president at JP Morgan Chase, formerly known as Bank One. There, he directed the bank’s retail roll out program including site selection, acquisition and construction of 104 new branch bank facilities in Bank One’s central region within 28 months.
Staubach Retail’s Velocity Development Services (800-944-0012) appointed Pat Sauer vice president and director of development. Sauer will be based in the company’s headquarters office in Dallas, TX. Velocity Development Services was created to assist Staubach Retail clients and retailers by providing build-to-suit development expertise in major markets nationwide. Most recently, Sauer was with the Dallas office of CB Richard Ellis, Inc., as senior account manager working with retailers such as CVS Pharmacy, Smart & Final, Citibank, Haverty’s Furniture, Bridgestone Firestone, Sleep Experts and Floors Today.
Century Retail (407-248-9828) hired Cheri Hendricks as it director of leasing.
TUCON Construction Corp. (703-478-3500) named Paul Taylor president and Chris Jenkins vice president. Taylor previously served as the company’s senior vice president and has 25 years of experience in commercial construction. His experience also covers all phases of construction management, including conceptual estimating, bidding client and subcontractor relations and project closeouts. Jenkins, who has been employed with TUCON since 1998 and has 26 years of experience in the construction industry.
Coldwell Banker Commercial Argue Properties (918-587-1900) hired Kathryn Basnett-Lopez as a sales associate, specializing in the sale and leasing of property. During her first seven months in real estate sales, she completed more than $1.16 million in commercial real estate transactions and secured eight listings. Prior to joining Argue Properties, Basnett-Lopez worked for KBI Construction, where she headed up the marketing department.
The Hampshire Cos. (973-292-9595) named Deborah Haller asset manager for the firm’s Hampshire Partners Fund VI, a $235 million institutional real estate discretionary investment fund. Haller will be responsible for all aspects of asset management, including facility and property management, operations, leasing and financial reporting for a number of the fund’s properties, which include industrial, office and retail properties in the mid-Atlantic states.
NewQuest Properties (281-477-4300) announced that Mark Sondock has joined the company as a broker associate. Previously, he was affiliated with Trammell Crow Co. from 2002 to 2005, representing national and local tenants. He also was involved in leasing four retail properties totaling more than 450,000 sq.ft.
