Crosland (704-529-1166) announced that James Downs, vice president of Crosland’s retail division, has been appointed state director of the International Council of Shopping Centers for 2005/2006. Downs will oversee activities associated with ICSC in both North Carolina and South Carolina. His primary role will be to promote the trade organization by raising awareness of key issues affecting the shopping center industry within the Carolinas. He will participate in the ICSC’s Congressional lobbying efforts in Washington, DC and will oversee other state-level ICSC officers in developing new initiatives. Downs previously served as ICSC’s North Carolina operations chairman for a three-year term and also served as chairman of the annual ICSC Carolinas Idea Exchange. He has worked in the shopping center industry for 13 years. Downs joined Crosland in 2004 and is responsible for generating new retail and mixed-use development opportunities.

 

Grubb & Ellis Co. (847-753-7678) named Michael J. Dee senior vice president, national director of retail and transaction services. Dee has nearly 20 years of retail real estate experience. Most recently, he was director of real estate for Cottonwood Financial. Earlier, he spent three years as development manager of Blockbuster, Inc. and another year as director of store development at Fleming Co.

 

NAI Global (609-945-4017) announced that Oklahoma City, OK-based NAI Sullivan Group, formerly Bob Sullivan Group, has joined its member network. Led by Bob Sullivan, the company has an annual sales volume of more than $24 million. NAI Sullivan Group’s specialty areas include land, office, industrial, investment and retail commercial real estate brokerage. Additionally, the firm offers services in sales, leasing, development, management and property valuation. The client list includes, but is not limited to, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Burger King, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Sutherland Lumber Company, API Manufacturing, Baltimore Life, Xpedx and Cintas.

 

DLC Management Corp. (866-DLC-MGMT) hired Michael Desmarais as vice president of property management. Most recently, Desmarais was the director of property management for the Northwest for New Plan Excel Realty Trust, Inc. and has over 20 years of experience. He has worked for Montgomery Group Affiliates, CNM Associates and Kravco.

 

Millennium Properties (312-338-3015) hired Greg Mikrut as an associate. Mikrut specializes in investment properties in Chicago and throughout Lake County, IL. Mikrut interned at Arthur Hill & Co. Realty Services, LLC in Evanston, IL, where he contributed to the marketing and analysis of commercial properties.
