DJM Asset Management (631-752-1100) hired Peter Lynch as senior managing director to direct the company’s West Coast practice. Lynch brings over 30 years of retail operating experience as president, COO and CFO for specialty retail, big box, outlet and department stores in both publicly-traded and venture capital-based companies. Prior to joining DJM, Lynch had been president and COO for Babystyle, the specialty retailer. Before leading Babystyle, Lynch was executive vice president of worldwide operations for Warner Brothers Studio Stores, where he led the closedown of the 150-store retail operation following the AOL/Time Warner merger. During the closedown, Lynch managed the negotiations of over $250 million in lease liabilities and the disposition of all store assets.

 

Transcan Development (925-552-9742) promoted Jeff Adams to executive vice president of development. Previously, Adams served as the director of projects. In his new position, Adams will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project development. His new responsibilities will include identification of new opportunities, negotiating agreements with property owners and anchor tenants, obtaining entitlements and coordinating the activities of the various departments involved in the design, construction and leasing of development projects. Prior to joining Transcan Development, Adams founded and managed Designers Collective, Inc., an architectural/project management firm.

 

Forest City Enterprises (216-621-6060) named Lauren Navarro as national director of specialty leasing. In her new role, Navarro will be responsible for overseeing all of Forest City’s specialty leasing functions. She has more than 20 years of retail industry experience and most recently played a role in the design and implementation of the specialty leasing program at Simi Valley Town Center, a 600,000 sq.ft. regional lifestyle center located in Simi Valley, CA. Previously, she held the position of specialty leasing manager for Victoria Gardens, a 1.3 million sq.ft., regional, open-air lifestyle center located in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Prior to joining Forest City, Navarro was the owner of Trilogy Consulting, an independent shopping center marketing and specialty leasing firm. As a consultant and partner to developers, including Vestar Properties and Forest City Enterprises, she was involved in the grand openings of Desert Ridge Marketplace in Phoenix, AZ; Las Americas in San Diego, CA and The Grove in Los Angeles, CA.

 

CenterStar Property Group (973-575-7935) hired Bob Podstawski as vice president of operations. Formerly a managing director of the NY region with CB Richard Ellis in Paramus, NJ, Podstawski joined CenterStar in November to oversee the property management for the firm’s portfolio of residential, retail shopping centers, warehouse and office space.
