Lease Signings


Prudential Douglas Elliman (800-355-4626) signed a lease for 4,000 sq.ft. with Niwaka, a Japan-based jeweler specializing in wedding, engagement and private jewelry, on Fifth Avenue in New York, NY. The boutique, located in the heart of Rockefeller Center’s retail district, is slated to open during the holiday season.

 

Feldman Mall Properties, Inc. (516-684-1239) signed a lease for 31,840 sq.ft. with Steve & Barry’s University Sportswear at Stratford Square Mall located in Bloomingdale, IL. The mall is co-anchored by Kohl’s, Sears, Carson Pirie Scott, Marshall Fields, JCPenney and Burlington Coat Factory.

 

Rose Associates, Inc. (212-210-6666) signed a 10-year lease for 2,325 sq.ft. with Issey Miyake on Madison Avenue, located within the 20 East 68th Street building, in New York, NY. Issey Miyake is relocating its Upper East Side store from its present location on Madison Avenue near The Mark hotel. The new store is slated to open during the fall. Area retail includes JM Weston Shoes, Designs by Giuseppe Zanotti, Leron and Bonpoint.

 

Adams-Nelson & Associates, Inc. (540-667-2424) signed a lease for 1,500 sq.ft. with True Fans, LLC, a sports memorabilia store, on West Jubal Drive in Winchester, VA.

 

Excess Space Retail Services, Inc. (516-365-6400) completed the following transactions: Movie Gallery subleased 2,700 sq.ft. to Schaeffer Eyecare on Highway 280 in Mountain Brook, AL; Hollywood Video subleased 2,400 sq.ft. to Pro Restaurants Hilltop on Republic Road in Virginia Beach, VA; Eckerd subleased 7,900 sq.ft. to Kings Kids Corp. on 4th Avenue in Brooklyn, NY; and Eckerd subleased 13,824 sq.ft. to Deer Hills Hardware on Broadhollow Road in Farmingdale, NY.

 

The Retail Connection, L.P. (214-572-0777) signed a lease for 23,000 sq.ft. with Bed Bath & Beyond at Lake Worth Marketplace, a center located on the northeast corner of Boat Club and Azle Avenue in Lake Worth, TX.

 

Spirit Finance Corp. (866-557-7474) signed the following leases with Steve & Barry’s University Sportswear: 129,000 sq.ft. at Wal*Mart Plaza in Champaign, IL and 104,000 sq.ft. in Sumter, SC. Both locations are slated to open this month.

 

Metro Commercial Real Estate, Inc. (847-412-9898) signed a lease for 2,000 sq.ft. with Starbucks at the intersection of Lakeshore and Vermillion in Danville, IL. The company also signed a lease for 2,000 sq.ft. with Starbucks at the intersection of Veterans and Morissey Drive in Bloomington, IL.

 

Garden Commercial Properties (973-467-5000) signed the following leases at Boonton Plaza, a 190,000 sq.ft. center located in Boonton, NJ: 8,635 sq.ft. with Sleepy’s, The Mattress Professionals; 3,000 sq.ft. with Ricky’s Candy Cones, and 3,000 sq.ft. with Eagle Martial Arts.

 

Robert K. Futterman & Associates, LLC (212-599-3700) signed the following leases with Smith & Hawken: at Plaza El Segundo in El Segundo, CA and at Downtown at the Gardens in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. The locations represent the retailer’s new “Renaissance” concept stores that were recently rolled out. The new design is modeled after cloistered gardens and features a central skylight over a lush plant area, as well as antique-inspired fixtures. The company also arranged a long-term lease on behalf of a partnership of investors for six retail buildings throughout NJ totaling 50,000 sq.ft.. The six buildings are 680 and 698 Main Avenue in Passaic; 3701 Bergenline Avenue in Union City; 145 Smith Street in Perth Amboy; 5800 Bergenline Avenue in West New York and 414 37th Street in Union City. The company also subleased two spaces to national retailers, including 3,400 sq.ft. to Children’s Place at 698 Main Avenue and 7,000 sq.ft. to New York & Company at 3701 Bergenline Avenue. An additional 3,500 sq.ft. of retail space was sub-leased to La Moda at 680 Main Avenue.

 

PlazaCorp Realty Advisors, Inc. (269-383-5775) signed a lease for 5,700 sq.ft. with I Love Sushi at The United Building in Kalamazoo, MI. The restaurant specializes in Japanese and Korean fair. The office building is slated to open this Fall.
