Real Estate Professionals Making The News Colliers Macaulay Nicolls, Inc. (416-643-3722) completed a deal to acquire Colliers Seeley, the southern CA-based commercial real estate firm. Colliers Seeley has 138 brokers operating 12 offices throughout Los Angeles, CA and four adjacent counties.Colliers Macaulay Nicolls has operations throughout the western U.S., Asia Pacific, Latin America, Canada and easter and central Europe.
Fameco Real Estate (610-834-8000) hired Jonathan Rome as general counsel to oversee all legal matters. Rome will handle the legal aspects of retail leasing, property acquisitions and dispositions, financing, commission negotiations and general corporate governance. Rome formerly served as vice president of development at Angeloni Development, LLC, where he coordinated acquisition and leasing matters in conjunction with brokers, landowners, engineers and tenants.
NewQuest Properties (281-477-4300) hired Cyndee Smith as senior vice president of retail leasing. With 23 years experience, she has been vice president of retail for Shelby/Estus since 1992. Smith began her real estate career at Henry S. Miller Co. in 1982, joining Wulfe & Co. at its inception in 1985. Smith specializes in retail leasing and sales and has directed leasing activities for numerous prime retail properties in the greater Houston, TX area.
NVRetail (703-356-8230) hired Jack Waghorn as president. Waghorn was hired to oversee the firm’s renewed involvement in the development and leasing of retail properties in the Mid-Atlantic marketplace. Waghorn will be responsible for the overall operations of the firm, including development and marketing; negotiation of land acquisition contracts and major leases; oversight of engineering and design matters; and the management and disposition of properties. Prior to joining NVRetail, Waghorn was with Zimmer Development Co., where he completed the development of several supermarket-anchored retail centers in a period of five years. Before that, he served as vice president of development at First Washington Realty Trust. In the mid 1990s, Waghorn was with NVCommercial, a sister company to NVRetail, where he was responsible for the leasing and management of several retail centers.
Equity One, Inc. (305-947-1664) announced that Cindy Morse will serve as executive vice president of asset management. Morse has more than 15 years of commercial real estate experience throughout the U.S. Prior to joining Equity One in 2004, she was with Wal*Mart Realty, a division of Wal*Mart Stores, Inc., where she was responsible for tenanting a portfolio exceeding eight million sq.ft.
Capital Real Estate Investments, Inc. (858-200-9401) recruited Colby Haugness as senior vice president of brokerage. Prior to joining CREI, Haugness worked for Net Leased Retail Properties and Marcus Millichap.
