Garrett DeFrenza Stiepel LLP (714-384-4300) hired Louis K. Raymond and James P. Mullen.  Raymond specializes in retail and commercial leasing and acquisition/disposition.  He works on large-scale commercial transactions, representing buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants and companies from a wide range of industries including commercial developers, financial service providers, law firms and entertainment companies.  He has previously served as an in-house counsel for The Walt Disney Co. in Burbank, CA.  Mullen specializes in development-related acquisition and entitlement, commercial and industrial leasing and real estate financing.  He represents lenders and borrowers in secured financing matters related to acquisitions, construction and permanent financing of development properties and commercial, industrial and retail buildings.  Prior to joining Garrett DeFrenza Stiepel, Mullen worked for the San Diego, CA office of international law firm DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary U.S. LLP.

 

Strathmore Development Co. (517-664-4137) hired Richard Striebe as a senior project manager. Striebe brings over 30 years of experience in architecture, construction management, real estate development, real estate sales and project management.

 

CBL & Associates Properties, Inc. (423-855-0001) promoted Bill McCabe and Geoff Smith to vice presidents of development.  They will now be responsible for community center developments and open-air projects in the northeast and southeast regions of the U.S., respectively.  McCabe joined CBL in July 1995 as assistant project manager in the New England regional office’s community center development division.  He is currently overseeing the development of Milford Marketplace, a lifestyle center in Milford, CT.  Prior to joining CBL, McCabe worked in the market research area for TJX Cos. in its Framingham, MA headquarters.  From 1989 to 1993 he worked for Filene’s Basement, Inc.  Smith joined CBL in June 1999 as a project manager in the community center development division and most recently served as director.  Prior to joining the company, he served as president and principal of Seneca Development Corp. and real estate manager for Family Dollar Stores.

 

Woolbright Development (561-989-2240) named Robert K. Powell senior development director.  Powell will be based in Woobright’s Boca Raton, FL regional office and will focus his work on core properties and ground-up developments.  Prior to joining Woolbright Development, Powell was president of The Powell Co., an advisory, development and brokerage firm based in Atlanta, GA.  He spearheaded several high profile retail projects, including Atlantic Station, a 138-acre mixed-use project.  He was also once a southeast FL regional manager with Faison & Associates.  He was responsible for opening the company’s southeast FL regional office and was instrumental in the redevelopment and repositioning of Colonial Palms Plaza in Miami, FL.

 

The Macerich Co. (602-953-6550) promoted Jerry Anderson from assistant vice president of leasing to vice president of leasing for its northern CA Property Group.  Anderson will oversee leasing for five of the company’s shopping centers in northern and central CA, including Fashion Fair in Fresno, Vintage Faire Mall in Modesto, Somersville Towne Center in Antioch, Capitola Mall in Capitola and Northridge Mall in Salinas.  Anderson joined The Macerich Co. in 1987 as a management associate and tenant coordinator at Crossroads Mall in Boulder, CO.  He was promoted to leasing manager in 1993 and senior leasing manager in 2000 and went on to direct leasing on various properties throughout CA.  Most recently, Anderson completed the leasing of the new outdoor Village at Fashion Fair in Fresno, CA and is now directing leasing on a similar lifestyle center addition at Vintage Fair.
