Federal Realty Investment Trust (301-998-8358) promoted Don Briggs to senior vice president of development; John Hendrickson to vice president of strategic transactions; Vicki Quinn to vice president of marketing and corporate communications and Wendy Seher to vice president of leasing. Briggs assumed the role of senior vice president of development and leads the planning and execution of development and redevelopment projects. Hendrickson will be responsible for the execution of all property acquisitions, dispositions and property-secured debt for both the company’s own portfolio and its joint venture with Clarion Lion Properties Fund. Quinn has led the company’s marketing and corporate communications efforts since 2004. Seher will be responsible for leasing anchor space throughout the company’s portfolio and overseeing the leasing of small shop space at a number of the company’s properties.

 

Mid-America Real Estate – Wisconsin (414-273-4600) promoted Tony B. Colvin to vice president of the tenant representation team. Colvin is responsible for tenant representation of national and regional retailers in WI. Colvin represents the following retailers throughout the state: Starbucks Coffee Co., Sportsman’s Warehouse, TJX Cos., Quiznos, Fantastic Sams, YUM Brands and Nick ‘N Willy’s Pizza.

 

Landtrack, Inc. (847-967-8777) hired Brad Friedman to its firm. Friedman comes to the company from Sheldon Good & Co., where he was a specialist in the area of investment sales. He has previous experience in shopping center leasing and retail tenant representation. He recently completed an $8 million acquisition along Lake Shore Drive in Chicago, IL.

 

The Macerich Co. (602-953-6550) appointed Melanie Balfour Heywood senior vice president of development. The 24-year veteran of the real estate industry will become part of the leadership team for an expanded Real Estate Services group that includes a team of senior vice presidents. Balfour Heywood was most recently director of the entertainment and retail group for Gensler Architecture, Planning and Designing Worldwide. Her projects at the firm include regional shopping centers in the western U.S., landmark hotel and mixed-use projects in downtown Los Angeles, CA and entertainment projects in London. Balfour Heywood also served as vice president and senior asset manager for Lend Lease’s Retail Group in San Francisco, CA, with overall responsibility for a $2 billion property portfolio nationwide.

 

Botsaris Realty Group (212-630-9900) recently formed a full-service, retail real estate leasing company, serving property owners and tenants.

 

Preferred Real Estate Investments, Inc. (610-834-1969) hired Michael Balitsaris as president. In his new position, Balitsaris will be responsible for sourcing new investment opportunities.
