Real Estate Professionals Making the News Forest City Commercial Development (216-373-8314) named Andres Friedman vice president. Formerly project developer, Friedman has more than 13 years of experience in the industry as a developer. Prior to joining Forest City, Friedman worked with Infomart and Trammell Crow Co., where he was responsible for all aspects of the development process.
CB Richard Ellis, Inc. (602-735-5555) promoted Daniel Calihan to senior vice president and Kevin Cosca to vice president. Calihan joined the company in 1995 and specializes in all aspects of industrial real estate, including portfolio sales, investment sales, leasing, build-to-suits, new development and land sales. Cosca’s experience includes the representation of landlords and tenants in lease transactions, sales transactions, build-to-suits and speculative industrial development.
Uniwest Commercial Realty, Inc. (703-698-4040) hired Jonathan Butts as managing director in the Investment Sales and Structured Finance Division. He will specialize in securing investment opportunities that meet the investor’s financial parameters and objectives. Butts joined the company in October. Butts has experience in market research, including absorption surveys and occupancy studies, demographic analysis, economic studies and metropolitan industry analysis. Butts also worked for Jones Lang LaSalle, where he provided project management support for construction of Capital One’s northern VA headquarters building.

For the past nine years, Monahan has been practicing real estate law with an emphasis on commercial real estate transactions and development on Long Island, NY. Monahan will assist the company in its commercial and residential property management and commercial real estate brokerage.

He will be based in the company’s Newport Beach, CA office on Newport Center Drive and will focus on tenant representation for both national and regional retailers. Straka has over 14 years of real estate experience in managing new store expansion for national high growth retailers.

Jennings has 20 years of shopping center experience, including property management, marketing, redevelopment, construction and leasing at Centro Watt (formerly Kramont Realty Trust) in Atlanta, GA, as well as the two companies she founded, JR Properties, Inc. and Real Estate Southeast, LLC.
