Equity One, Inc. (305-947-1664) announced that Jeffrey Olson will join the company as CEO and president. Chaim Katzman, the current CEO, will continue as Chairman of the Board. Olson currently serves as president of the Eastern and Western shopping center regions of Kimco Realty Corp., one of the nation’s largest shopping center development and management companies. He will assume the positions of CEO and president of Equity One in April 2007. He will also become a member of Equity One’s Board of Directors at that time. Since joining Kimco in 2002, Olson has directed the asset management, leasing, property management, redevelopment and construction activities for a 500-property shopping center portfolio totaling approximately 54 million sq.ft. He also led Kimco’s West Coast acquisition program, growing the region from $700 million to $7 billion during his tenure. From 2000 to 2002, he served as senior vice president, co-head of real estate research for UBS Warburg and from 1996 to 2000 he served as the vice president, head of real estate research for CIBS World Markets and vice president of Salomon Smith Barney. Equity One, Inc. is a leading real estate investment trust that principally acquires, renovates, develops and manages neighborhood and community shopping centers anchored by leading supermarkets, drug stores or discount retail store chains.

 

Holladay Properties (513-772-3415) named Michelle Voss Waak as senior vice president of leasing. In this role, Voss Waak will oversee all leasing efforts for current projects in the portfolio and future projects in development. Other responsibilities include overseeing the lease negotiation and approval process across the company’s portfolio, managing national tenant relationships and supervision of all leasing staff. Vos Waak has more than 15 years experience in the retail leasing industry. Prior to joining Holladay Properties, she was regional vice president of leasing at Poag & McEwen Lifestyle Centers where she was lead on several major developments and instrumental in bringing fashion tenants to the portfolio. Prior to that, she was a leasing executive at The Taubman Co. for five years and was responsible for completing the first deals with Coldwater Creek and Anthropologie in the history of the company. She also has leasing experience in the outlet industry and on the retail side of the business. She will be based at the retail division’s corporate office in Cincinnati, OH.

 

Retail Consulting Services (512-329-2734) announced that Roger D. Burghdorf has joined the firm as senior vice president. Burghdorf will be responsible for corporate development and expanding the company’s new leasing and portfolio management divisions. He will be based in the company’s Los Angeles, CA office. Burghdorf brings more than 35 years experience in the mall development and retail industry. Most recently, he held the position of senior executive vice president/director of leasing for Westfield Corp., where he was instrumental in expanding Westfield’s U.S. portfolio from seven to 68 centers. Prior to joining Westfield in 1994, Burghdorf was director of leasing for May Centers/Centermark and Homart Development Co. He also held various senior level management positions at Sears.
