CVS (401-765-1500) is planning to open a location on South Main Street in Manchester, NH at the site of the former Sully’s Superette grocery store. The 13,000 sq.ft. pharmacy will feature a drive-thru and is scheduled to open during the fall. This is the fourth location for the drug store chain in Manchester. The company is also planning to open a store at the intersection of N.C. 17 and Calabash Road across from the Food Lion in Carolina Shores, NC. The company prefers freestanding sites and a drive-thru on 1.5 to two acres of land. The chain of drug stores currently operates 6,200 locations in 43 states nationwide.

Kohl’s (262-703-7000) is planning to open a store at Culpepper Plaza, located at the intersection of Texas Avenue and Harvey Road, in College Station, TX during October. Area retailers include Baskins and Cost Plus World Market.

The Human Bean (888-262-2215) is planning to expand its drive-thru coffee franchises nationwide with at least 110 new locations. Expansion plans include 10 openings in CO this year. The company currently operates 28 locations throughout AZ, CA, CO, ID, NC and OR and offers gourmet-roasted coffee.

Wings, Etc. (866-432-5515) is planning to open a 4,500 sq.ft. restaurant in La Porte, IN during May or June. The restaurants serve chicken wings, ribs, grilled chicken, sandwiches and salads. Further expansion for the company includes an opening slated for next year in Valparaiso, IN followed by 2009 openings in Portage, Crown Point, Hammond and Merrillville, IN.

Daphne’s Greek Café (888-414-7335) is planning to open two locations in CO. One restaurant will be located in downtown Denver and is scheduled to open this month. Target (612-304-6073) is planning to open a store at August Crossing in Augusta, ME. The 460,000 sq.ft. center will be tenanted by Lowe’s Home Improvement, Best Buy, PetSmart, Staples and A.C. Moore. Opening is likely to be during March 2008.

Lowe’s Home Centers, Inc. (800-445-6937) is planning to open a 139,410 sq.ft. store on Wilson Street in Brewer, ME. The home improvements center will also feature a 31,659 sq.ft. garden center, situated on a land area of 19.3 acres and is slated to open by the end of the year. The company currently operates over 1,375 stores nationwide. The company is also planning to open a 152,890 sq.ft. store at the Orange Derby Shopping Center in Derby, CT during June 2008, Cotenants include Burger King, Dunkin’ Donuts and Webster Bank.

Walgreens (847-914-2500) is planning to open a 14,800 sq.ft. drug store at the intersection of County Road and Markwood Drive in Barrington, RI. The company currently operates 5,600 locations nationwide and in Puerto Rico.

Three store openings and remodelings are slated to open this year at the Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh, NC; Shallotte, NC and Anderson, SC. The company currently operates 276 locations in 18 states throughout the southeastern region.

SuperFresh (201-571-4132) is opening a 34,000 sq.ft. store at the Rockville Town Square in Rockville, MD by the end of the year. The supermarket will anchor the mixed-use center, which is tenanted by Starbucks, Cloud 9 Clothing, Pomegranate & Co. and Town Square Jewelers.

Whole Foods (510-428-7400) is planning to open a store at the Kings Crossing Shopping Center located on Kings Highway at the site of the former Handy & Harman Factory in Fairfield, CT. The 60,000 sq.ft. supermarket, specializing in natural and organic foods, will anchor the 120,000 sq.ft. center. The company currently operates two locations throughout Greenwich and West Hartford, CT.
Openings in Darien and Glastonbury, CT are scheduled for 2008. The company operates 193 locations nationwide
and internationally.
