Real Estate Associates, Inc. (919-489-2000) hired James T. Bastic as commercial property manager. Previously, he had served as a property manager with a regional real estate firm in Durham, NC and a national real estate firm based in Dallas, TX. Bastic has experience managing office buildings, retail centers and industrial/flex space.

TD Banknorth (201-236-2605) hired Christina Young as a vice president within the company’s commercial lending group in its Mahwah, NJ office. Previously, she served as a vice president, commercial lender in asset based lending and middle market lending at UJB/Summit Bancorp, Bank of America and Lakeland Bank.

Carl M. Freeman Cos. (240-779-8094) hired Tricia Mangum as a leasing representative for the commercial real estate division. She will be responsible for leasing more than 1.1 million sq.ft. of commercial real estate throughout the Mid-Atlantic market in DE, MD, VA, WV and Washington, DC. In addition, Mangum will work with Roger Gerst, the director of leasing, to develop leasing strategies and oversee the tenant mix of the commercial and mixed-use space in the company’s portfolio. Previously, she had worked as a leasing and property manager at Nellis Corp.

Cabela’s, Inc. (308-254-5505) appointed Lynn Ferguson to senior vice president of retail strategy and real estate development. He will oversee the company’s expansion plans and retail strategy, reporting to Dennis Highby, the company’s president and CEO. Most recently, Ferguson served as chief marketing officer and executive vice president of National Recreational Properties.

A&B Properties (808-523-6611) promoted Lance K. Parker to vice president of acquisitions and investments. He joined A&B Properties, the real estate subsidiary of Alexander & Baldwin, Inc., during October 2004 as project manager of acquisitions and was promoted last April to director of acquisitions. He will continue to report to Michael G. Wright, senior vice president of acquisitions and investments. A&B Properties has a portfolio comprised of 5.3 million sq.ft. of retail, office and industrial properties.

Wrightwood Capital (312-324-5943) hired Sam Bluso as senior director of capital markets. He will be structure, distribute and price large bridge and construction loans on a national basis. The move will expand the company’s national loan origination platform into a larger market segment. Previously, Bluso had served as a director with EuroHypo AG in the real estate, banking and syndications group.

McWhinney (970-962-9990) hired Wendy Crawford as vice president of retail leasing. She will work with Jack Wolfe, the company’s president of commercial and mixed-use development, and will focus on establishing and maintaining contact with key brokers, prospective tenants, clients and other developers. McWhinney has a portfolio of 3.3 million sq.ft. throughout the Rocky Mountain region and the West Coast.

Breslin Realty’s Alan L. Berger (516-741-7400) will serve as vice chair of National Association of RealtorsRealtors Commercial Real Estate Research Subcommittee. The committee consists of representatives of major commercial real estate companies, such as Colliers, CBRE and Cushman, as well as brokers, CEO’s and vice presidents of associated corporations. The committee will create proprietary research that leads the industry to focusing on the core needs of the association’s members. The committee will present its finding to the Realtors Commercial Alliance. Berger had previously served as vice chair in 2005 and as chair of the Certified International Property Specialists during 2006.
