Starbucks (800-782-7282) is planning to open 1,700 locations nationwide during the 2008. The company planned to open 2,400 locations during 2007 and currently operates 9,814 stores nationwide.

Village Roadshow Cinemas is looking to open locations throughout Fairfield County, CT; northern NJ; Long Island and Westchester County in NY, and is being represented by Charter Realty & Development (203-227-2922). The company is seeking sites between 38,000 sq.ft. to 40,000 sq.ft. and requires at least 200 parking spaces.

Kohl’s (262-703-7000) opened a store in Tupelo, MS this month. This location is among the 95 stores that the company plans to open nationwide during the fall. Long-range plans include the opening of an additional 500 locations during the next four years. The company also plans to
open locations this month in FL, specifically on Little Road in New Port
Richey and on Park Street in Seminole. Currently, the company operates six locations throughout the Tampa Bay area in FL, with a total of 21 stores operating throughout the state. In addition, the company is planning to open five locations throughout WA. Openings are scheduled at the Southcenter Square in Tukwila, Lacey, Spokane,
Richland and Hazell Dell, with a goal of having 13 stores in operation throughout the state by the end of the year. The department stores offer apparel, footwear and home furnishings at discount prices and the company currently operates 834 locations throughout 46 states nationwide.

Nordstrom (888-282-6060) is exploring a possible location at the intersection of East 56^th Street and Park Avenue in New York, NY.

Fruits & Passion (800-276-9952) is planning to open between 50 and 200 stores nationwide during the next three years. The company recently opened a 1,500 sq.ft. store in the Natick Collection Mall in Boston, MA. Additional locations are scheduled for Aventura, FL and Las Vegas, NV during the fall. The company offers a line of unique products, oils and lotions for bath and body, baby care, aromatherapy, kitchen and gourmet and household care. The company currently operates 169 locations throughout Canada and internationally.

Rutter’s Farm Stores (717-848-9827) is planning to open 10 stores during the year throughout northern MD. The company is opening 10 locations throughout southern central PA during the year and has several locations under construction north of Red Lion in Springettsbury Township and in Hanover, Abbottstown and Dauphin County. The company currently operates 51 convenience stores with fueling stations.

The Shelving Store (800-637-9508) recently opened an 1,800 sq.ft. store on East 11 Mile Road in Madison Heights, MI. The showroom offers storage and organizational items for bedroom closets, kitchen pantries, offices, laundry rooms, living spaces, kid’s spaces and garages. The 50-year-old company mainly sells its goods online.

Barnes & Noble (800-422-7717) is planning to open a store next year at the Red Cliffs Mall, located on East Red Cliffs Drive in St. George, UT. The new store will offer a Barnes & Noble membership program featuring 40% off for preferred customers, an advanced technology music-listening system, rapid special-order service, a large-scale children’s department, in addition to a newsstand stocked with over 2,000 book, magazine and newspaper titles.

Office Depot (561-438-4800) plans to open a 21,000 sq.ft. store at the Riverview Mall in Bullhead City, AZ during December. The store will occupy a space formerly tenanted by Albertsons. The new shop will feature a design and print shop, offering copying and printing services, UPS shipping, graphic design and promotional design as well as signs and banners.

JCPenney (972-431-1000) plans to open a 150,000 sq.ft. department store in the Manhattan Mall located at the intersection of Sixth Avenue and West 33^rd Street in
New York, NY. 

Tiffany & Co. (212-755-8000) is planning to open a 5,100 sq.ft. store in Westfield Topanga in the Topanga Canyon section of Los Angeles, CA. Located on Topanga Canyon Boulevard, the store is slated to open next April. The company operates jewelry and specialty retail stores throughout the Americas, Asia-Pacific region and Europe. 

GameStop Corp. (817-424-2000) is planning to open 300 stores nationwide annually, and is also planning an expansion throughout Europe. This year, the company is planning to open a total of 500 stores worldwide.

Lowe’s Home Improvement (704-758-1000) is planning to open a 125,000 sq.ft. store along US Highway 331 in DeFuniak, FL. The company currently operates 93 locations throughout FL.

DSW (614-237-7100) recently opened a 14,700 sq.ft. store on the first level at the Westroads Mall in Omaha, NE. The designer shoe retailer will be located next to JCPenney. Delia’s and Forever 21 are scheduled to open during March 2008.

Tuesday Morning (972-387-3562) is planning to open a 6,794 sq.ft. store in the Larchmont Commons Shopping Center located along Route 38 West in Mount Laurel, NJ. The company offers discounted upscale home accessories and gifts and currently operates 790 locations nationwide.
