WinCo Foods, LLC (208-377-0110) recently opened a 92,000 sq.ft. store along North Case Road in Perris, CA and a 92,000
sq.ft. store along East State Street in Eagle, ID. The discount supermarket also opened a 109,000 sq.ft. store in Pittsburgh, CA and operates 61 locations throughout CA, ID, NV, OR and WA.

Abercrombie & Fitch Co. (614-283-6500) is planning to introduce a new concept in January with four stores, and will open six Abercrombie & Fitch locations, 25 abercrombie stores, 58 Hollister Co. locations and seven RUEHL stores. The company is also opening its first store in Asia during 2009 in Tokyo, Japan. Abercrombie & Fitch offers men’s and women’s apparel for customers between 18 and 22 years old; Abercrombie targets boys and girls ages seven to 14; Hollister offers colorful sportswear aimed at boys and girls ages 14 to 18 and RUEHL offers business and casual trend fashion for post-college customers.

Shopko Stores, Inc. (920-429-2211) is planning to open two Shopko stores in Sussex and North Branch, MN next year. The company is also building a unit in Suamico, MN, which is slated to open
next spring. In addition, the company is looking to open two Shopko Express RX stores next year. The company currently operates 132 Shopko stores and three Shopko Express RX locations.

Wingstop (972-686-6500) is planning to open 75 restaurants next year. The company currently operates 315 units throughout AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, KY, LA, MO, MS, NC, NE, NM, NV, OH, OR, PA, SC, VA and WI. The restaurants serves chicken wings with nine varieties of sauces, as well as side dishes, beer and wine.

The Extreme Pita (905-820-7887) is planning to have 500 units in operation by 2010, including 160 in the U.S. The company currently operates 204 restaurants, with 178 locations in Canada and 26 in the U.S. The restaurants offer pita sandwiches, pizzas
and salads. Stores average 1,100 sq.ft. to 1,300 sq.ft. in size with 30 seats and an
open kitchen.

YUM Brands!, Inc. (502-874-8300) is planning to open 750 Taco Bell units next year, most of which will be multi-branded restaurants with KFC, Long John Silver’s
and Pizza Hut. The company currently operates 170 KFC/Taco Bell units throughout the Philadelphia, PA area and 6,500
locations nationwide.

The Cravery, Inc. (310-324-5888) will be expanding outside CA during 2009, with openings in MI, MN, OR, WA and WI. Within 10 years, the company expects to have 100 units in operation on the West Coast and from the upper Midwest to the Ohio Valley. Next year, the company plans to open two to three locations in the Los Angeles, CA area next year. This year, locations opened in Irvine and Los Altos, CA. The restaurants serve pot pies.

Trader Joe’s Co. (626-599-3700) will be opening its fifth store in Charlotte, NC next year, following a 12,000 sq.ft. store that recently opened on Mallard Creek Church Road in University City and a location in Chapel Hill. In August, the company opened its first Charlotte store at The Shops at Piper Glen. The grocery stores offer artisan breads, Arabica bean coffees, international frozen entrees, juices, fresh crop nuts, deli items, vitamins and supplements.

Publix Super Markets, Inc. (863-688-1188) is opening its first store in Chattanooga, TN on East Brainerd Road this month. The 45,042 sq.ft. store will consist of grocery, meat, produce, dairy and frozen food
departments, as well as pharmacy, bakery, deli and seafood departments. The store will also offer sushi, self-checkout, a full-service meat case, a full-service floral department, a Mediterranean Oven Venue serving Italian style foods, hand-crafted sandwiches, custom salads and will also include a Ticketmaster outlet. The company is also planning to open a 31,000 sq.ft. anchor store at Mary Brickell Village, a 200,000 sq.ft. upscale lifestyle center in Miami, FL. Opening is slated for late spring or early summer of 2008. In addition to full-service bakery, deli and seafood departments, the location will also feature two levels of dedicated parking for Publix parking above the store. The company operates 918 stores throughout AL, FL, GA, SC and TN.

Borders, Inc. (734-477-1100) is planning to open a 23,276 sq.ft. bookstore at Pier Park in Panama City Beach, FL next April. The 900,000 sq.ft. retail and entertainment center is located at the intersection of Powell Adams Drive and U.S. Highway 98. The company operates 1,100 stores nationwide.

Home Depot (770-433-8211) is planning to open a 141,000 sq.ft. store late next year at the Mueller mixed-use development located at the intersection of Interstate 35 and 51st Street in Austin, TX. Other anchors include Best Buy, Bed Bath & Beyond and Marshalls and cotenants include Old Navy and Shoe Pavilion.

Hot Topic, Inc. (626-839-4681) is looking to open five Hot Topic stores during fiscal year 2008, as well as 25 to 30 Torrid locations. In addition, the company will close 20 Hot Topic units and five Torrid stores during that time. By end of the fiscal year, the company plans to remodel or relocate 30 Hot Topic stores. Hot Topic offers apparel, accessories and gifts for young men and women between the ages of 12 and 22. Torrid provides plus-size apparel for young women between the ages of 15 and 29. The company currently operates 695 Hot Topic locations nationwide and in Puerto Rico, and 147 Torrid stores.

Crocs, Inc. (303-848-7000) recently entered the East Coast market with store openings in Boston, MA and New York, NY. The Boston store is located at Faneuil Hall in the Haymarket section and the New York location opened on Columbus Avenue. The stores are the company’s first three U.S. locations, joining a store in Santa Monica, CA. The company is a designer, manufacturer and retailer of footwear for men, women and children.

Dussault Apparel, Inc. (866-841-2010) recently opened its first retail stores on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, CA and on Broadway in Manhattan, NY. The company is a designer, manufacturer, wholesaler and retailer high-end quality apparel, including hoodies, jeans, jewelry, t-shirts, hats and leather goods.

Target Corp. (612-304-6073) is planning to open three stores in HI during 2009. During March, openings are slated for Salt Lake and at Kapoeli Commons in Kapolei at a site formerly occupied by Costco. During July, a store is slated for Kona Commons, a regional open-air center in Kona. The HI Target stores will have GLAs of 160,000 sq.ft. and are part of the company’s nationwide expansion plan to open 61 stores from CA to NJ and FL. Expansion is also planned for AK.

Conn’s, Inc. (409-832-1696) is planning to open 11 stores by July 2008, including two replacement stores and a new location in Oklahoma City, OK. Two to five stores are planned for the last half of 2008 as well. The company currently operates 65 locations in LA and TX. In TX, there are 21 stores located in the Houston market, 15 in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, 10 in San Antonio, five in Austin, four in southeastern TX, three in southern TX and one in Corpus Christi. In LA, the company operates six stores. The stores offer major home appliances, including refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, dishwashers and ranges, as well as consumer electronics, lawn and garden products and furniture and mattresses.
