| Who's Opening & Where Loehmann’s (718-409-2000) recently opened a 37,000 sq.ft. two-story flagship store at the intersection of Broadway and West 73rd Street in Manhattan, NY and a 42,000 sq.ft. flagship store along Queens Boulevard in the Rego Park section of Queens, NY. The company also opened a 27,000 sq.ft. flagship store along North State Street in Chicago, IL. Area retail includes Macy’s, H&M, Nordstrom Rack, Filene’s Basement, T.J. Maxx, Old Navy, Barnes & Noble, Urban Outfitters, Forever 21, Men’s Wearhouse and Annie Sez. The company also opened six suburban stores in Burbank, CA; Miami, FL; Pembroke Pines, FL; Orland Park, IL; Columbia, MD and Paramus, NJ. The suburban locations are approximately 25,000 sq.ft. and are located in power centers. Urban Outfitters, Inc. (215-454-5500) is opening an Anthropologie store at Blackhawk Plaza in Danville, CA. The women’s fashion retailer will occupy 11,000 sq.ft. and is slated to open next year. Other committed tenants slated to open at the center include Starbucks during this month and InSpa, Visual Expressions Optometry and The Soiled Doves Bath House next year. True Religion Apparel, Inc. (323-266-3072) recently opened a 1,500 sq.ft. store at the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, NV as part of plans to open three stores in Las Vegas. Openings are planned for Fashion Show Mall and Las Vegas Premium Outlets, which will open next year. The Miracle Mile Shops are tenanted by French Connection, Urban Outfitters, BCBG, Lucky Brand and Sephora. The company designs, manufactures and markets True Religion Apparel products, including True Religion Brand Jeans. Tesco (310-384-3833) will be opening a Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market anchor location at Jefferson Square, a 102,414 sq.ft. shopping center located at the intersection of Jefferson Street and Fred Waring Drive in La Quinta, CA. The grocery store will occupy 14,000 sq.ft. and offer a full line of produce, meats, liquor and prepared foods. The center is slated to open during spring 2009. The company is planning to open 200 stores by the end of next year, including 50 throughout southern CA, Phoenix, AZ and Las Vegas, NV by February 2008. Dick’s Sporting Goods, Inc. (724-273-3400) is planning to open four Golf Galaxy stores during the fourth quarter of this year, as part of the company’s plans to open 16 stores during 2007. The company, which also trades as Dick’s Sporting Goods, currently operates 340 stores in 36 states primarily in the eastern region, including 77 Golf Galaxy locations in 29 states. Foot Locker, Inc. (212-720-3700) recently launched its House of Hoops concept with the opening of the first store on 125th Street in the Harlem area of Manhattan, NY. The company plans to open 50 of the stores, a joint venture with Nike, Inc. specializing in basketball apparel, during the coming three years. Cato Corp. (704-554-8510) is opening an It’s Fashion store at Highland Village Shopping Center, located on Troup Highway in Tyler, TX, this month. It will be the company’s second store in Tyler. The stores offer value-priced apparel for juniors, junior plus and young men, as well as girls and boys apparel. The site was formerly tenanted by Cato, which moved to Shiloh Crossing Center last month. The company, which also trades as Cato, also operates 200 It’s Fashion stores in 14 states, including 10 throughout TX. Benihana, Inc. (305-593-0770) is planning to open a Benihana teppanyaki restaurant and an RA Sushi unit at Westwood Station, a mixed-use center located in Westwood, MA, as well as at The Square, a 20-acre mixed-use site on International Drive in Orlando, FL. In addition, six Benihana restaurants are being developed under a new prototype design in Coral Springs, FL; Chicago, IL; East Rutherford, NJ; Plymouth Meeting, PA; Plano, TX and Dulles, VA. The company is developing seven RA Sushi restaurants in Mesa, AZ; Huntington Beach, CA; Pembroke Pines, FL; South Miami, FL; Baltimore, MD and Houston and Plano, TX. The company is also developing a Haru restaurant in the Financial District of New York, NY. Opening is slated for the third quarter of next year. Mothers Work, Inc. (215-873-2200) is planning to open 25 to 35 stores during fiscal year 2008 and will close about 55 stores in anticipation of opening multi-brand stores. The company plans to open six to eight Destination Maternity Superstores during fiscal year 2008, compared with two openings during the prior fiscal year. Future plans call for potentially opening 50 or more superstores nationwide, as well as 70 Mimi Maternity combination stores. The company currently operates 40 Mimi combo stores and 14 Destination Maternity locations. open a store this month at Lahaina Gateway, located on Keawe Zumiez (425-551-1578) plans to open a 2,460 sq.ft. store at Eastern Hills Mall located along State Route 78/Transit Road in Buffalo, NY. Kitchen Collection (740-773-9150), a small kitchen and household appliance and gadget retailer, recently opened a 3,333 sq.ft. store in the mall, which includes Journey’s, S&K Menswear and JCPenney as tenants. Cost Plus World Market (510-893-7300) plans to open 17 stores nationwide during 2008, including locations in Lubbock, TX; Panama City, FL and Nashville, TN. The Nasville location will mark the company’s 300th store. Bang & Olufsen (847-590-4970) recently opened a 2,000 sq.ft. flagship location along North State Street in Chicago, IL. The high-end electronics retailer plans to open additional locations in Chicago by 2010. The Cheesecake Factory, Inc. (818-871-3000) recently opened a 9,600 sq.ft. restaurant in Blue Black Square in West Hartford, CT. The company also opened a 10,200 sq.ft. restaurant at Fashion Place Mall in Salt Lake City, UT. The company operates 136 restaurants under The Cheesecake Factory name and operates 10 restaurants under the Grand Lux Café name. The Rush 247 (336-854-7874) is planning to open a health club at a former Southern Family Markets site in Burlington, NC at the intersection of South Church Street and Gurney Street. Opening is slated for the end of the year. The fitness center will include a lap pool, a rock-climbing wall, a day-care center and sauna, and will be open 24 hours. to open a FreshSmart store at Mebane Oaks Marketplace in Mebane,
NC at a space formerly occupied by Winn-Dixie. Located on Mebane Oaks
Road, the store is slated to open next winter. The stores offer larger
selections of meat and seafood, organic produce and gourmet food, as well as a
deli and bakery. The company currently operates a FreshSmart location on
University Drive in The TJX Cos. (508-390-1000) is planning to eventually
expand by 1,000 stores. Walgreens Co. (847-914-2500) is planning to open a 13,650 sq.ft. store at the intersection of South Fifth Street and Mebane Oaks Road in Mebane, NC. The site was previously occupied by Tommy’s Mini Mart No. II. Opening is slated for 2009 and the store will include a drive-thru and a photo lab. Throughout NC, the company has raised its store count from 36 to 115 since 2003. Fingers Furniture Co., Inc. (713-221-4441) is planning to open 10 to 12 licensed Ashley Furniture HomeStores locations throughout the Houston, TX area. In addition, the company plans to open its own Fingers Furniture store concept in the area during the next three years, and will either close or remodel its six existing stores. (262-703-7000) is planning to open a 65,000 sq.ft. store situated on 23 acres at The Village at West Burlington, a 180,000 sq.ft. center located at the intersection of West Burlington Avenue and Agency Street in West Burlington, IA. Opening is slated for March. The company also recently opened an 81,000 sq.ft. store at Stonebridge Village Shopping Center, located on Sprout Springs Road in Gainesville, FL. Cotenants will include T.J. Maxx, PetSmart, OfficeMax and Target. American Girl, Inc. (608-836-4848) is opening an American Girl Boutique and Bistro at the Galleria Dallas, located in Dallas, TX. The fifth location for the retailer offers high-end, historically accurate dolls, doll furniture and accessories, historical paperback novels detailing the dolls’ stories and outfits for young girls that match the dolls’. The stores also feature a salon and second-level bistro. The company operates five locations, including larger stores in Chicago, IL; on Fifth Avenue in New York, NY and at The Grove in Los Angeles, CA. These stores feature a theater. Aritzia (604-251-3132) recently debuted in the U.S. at Westfield Valley Fair, located in San Jose, CA, and opened its second U.S. location at Bellevue Square, located in Seattle, WA. Steve & Barry’s (516-267-7300) plans to open 50 stores by the end of the year and will have 270 stores in operation nationwide. The company recently opened a 33,000 sq.ft. store at Macon Mall in Macon, GA, the retailer’s fourth location in the state with units in Athens, Brunswick and Savannah. (818-949-5300) recently opened two locations in AZ, a 40,000 sq.ft. store at Goodyear Centerpointe, located on West McDowell Road in Goodyear, and a 42,000 sq.ft. unit at Lake Pleasant Towne Center, located on North Lake Pleasant Parkway in Peoria. The company now operates seven stores in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area and 51 stores in total throughout AZ, CA, NV and UT. Tesco (310-384-3833) plans to open 30 Fresh & Easy grocery stores throughout the Southland area of CA this month, and will open 200 locations in the market by the end of the next year. Six Fresh & Easy stores are opening in Anaheim, Arcadia, Glassell Park, Hemet, Upland and West Covina, each occupying 10,000 sq.ft. and offering fresh fruit, organic products and precooked meals. The stores offer equestrian products throughout the U.S. Big Dog Holdings, Inc. (805-963-8727) is planning to open 20 The Walking Company locations during the fourth quarter. The company currently operates 303 stores, including 138 Big Dog stores and 165 The Walking Company locations. Big Dog develops, markets and sells a branded, lifestyle collection of activewear, casual sportswear, accessories and gifts. The Walking Company offers comfort shoes and accessories, and premium brands such as ECCO, Mephisto, Dansko, Ugg, Pikolinos and Merrell. Obee’s Franchise Systems, Inc. (941-928-0773) plans to open the first obee’s soups salads & subs location in the Dallas, TX metropolitan area at Heritage Towne Crossing Shopping Center in Euless, TX. Opening is slated for January 2008. The company has commitments from developers nationwide to open 1,000 units during the next nine years. Obee’s is a fast-casual restaurant chain with locations in 21 states from FL to CA. The restaurants offer a variety of items from garden salads to deli style sub sandwiches. Obee’s also recently opened a location on State Route 30 in Greensburg, PA, its first restaurant in the state, to be followed by 20 locations throughout Cambria, Indiana and Westmoreland counties. Urban Outfitters, Inc. (215-454-5500) is planning
to open 38 stores by the end of the fiscal year. So far this fiscal year, the
company has opened 23 stores. The company is a specialty retailer and wholesaler
offering a variety of lifestyle merchandise throughout 117 stores nationwide, as

Opening is slated for March or April of next year. The Neiman Marcus Group, Inc. (214-743-7600) is planning to open a 32,000 sq.ft. Last Call store in the Tanger Outlet Center at the Arches, an 81-acre entertainment and outlet center being developed at the intersection of Grand Boulevard and Commack Road in Deer Park, NY. The store will be the company’s first in Long Island and will feature Neiman Marcus products that are overstock or out-of-season and discounted 30% or more. Cotenants at the center include Anne Klein, Banana Republic, BCBG, Christmas Tree Shops, Disney, Eddie Bauer, Reebok and New York Sports Club. The company currently operates 39 department stores and 20 Last Call stores nationwide. TAPS Fish House & Brewery (714-257-0101) opened its second location at The Promenade Shops at Dos Lagos, located on Lakeshore Drive in Corona, CA.
